Meghan McCain: No Regrets About Bashing Palin

Posted by | October 21, 2014 12:49 | Filed under: Politics Top Stories

Meghan McCain told Politico that she stands by what she’s said about Sarah Palin , but does regret  referring to Bachmann as a “poor man’s Sarah Palin.”

“That’s the one if I could take it back I would, because I just think it’s so linear and so nasty,” McCain said in an interview with POLITICO. “And I’m not a big fan of attacking another woman anymore.”

It’s so crazy … she’s not the type of person you’d think I connect with,” McCain added. “It’s just with her being a woman in politics, being an actual politician, we really bonded.”

But McCain said she doesn’t regret the comments she’s made about Sarah Palin herself. McCain’s lamented the fact that she’s still connected to her father’s former running mate and recently referred to her as a kind of “crazy aunt.” In her book “Dirty Sexy Politics,” McCain slammed Palin for bringing so much drama and stress to the campaign, noting she may have been one of the reasons her father lost.

“You know Sarah Palin, some of the stuff I said, again I would maybe term differently,” McCain told POLITICO. “But I think the criticism I have said of her is fair. I’m surprised how much attention it still gets, just because people still talk about her all the time and I understand the curiosity, but at a certain point I wish it wouldn’t make as much news as it does, but I guess people will always love to hear about it.”

I don’t know who is worse, but both Palin and Bachmann are as crazy as bedbugs. I’m assuming bedbugs are pretty crazy.

No, bed bugs just stick to sucking blood. Crazy would be them trying to be a right wing politician.

I found out where that expression originated. It’s because of the way the bugs crawl around, seemingly going nowhere. Sorta like republicans on fox noise.

Bed bugs would drive you crazy, as do republicans.

I made a mistake once in my life (lol) and became engaged to a republican. I could not take the amount of hate and ignorance that was contained in his pretty little head, and I had to give him back his ring, I never looked back.

Of the two, the grifter from Alaska probably deserves to be slammed more. But the liar from Minnesota has also earned any criticism leveled at her.

    • tracey marie October 21st, 2014 at 13:20

I think the opposite, bachmann because she was elected and had a voice in making laws and policy. She used lies and innuendo to hurt people who disagreed with her or she just did not like. Huma and the President stick out the most as targets of her outrageous lies.

      • Electriq October 21st, 2014 at 13:50

Good points. But the way I see it, palin is still an extremely proficient and unrelenting con women, and she’s still out there pushing a harmful agenda in return for money. Bachmann, on the other hand, was so obviously unbalanced even her own constituents had just about reached their limits with her; she barely squeaked out a victory in her last election. She essentially neutralized herself. But, yeah, at her peak, she was still extremely dangerous.

        • tracey marie October 21st, 2014 at 17:25
