“we promised to defend the will of North Carolina voters”
Well… the ones we allow to vote. Not them Nigras or Mezzicans or furriners.

Their ultimate goal is to repeal the 19th amendment. Whose bright idea was it to let wimmen vote, anyway?

      • Dwendt44 October 12th, 2014 at 13:51

Even Ann Coulter is for that repeal.

Well, Thom only likes “activist judges” when they agree with him. What a surprise!

    • M D Reese October 12th, 2014 at 12:28

They loved those activist judges on the Supreme Court when they appointed Bush 43 to the Presidency…

Congratulations to all the happy couples in the Tar Heel state.

For all of you who spend your time and energy fighting marriage equality, I would ask you how in the world does it affect you and your loved ones if the two men or two women down the street or across the country, love each other?

This is America where everyone is equal under the law, including gay people. We do not govern this country according to your religious beliefs. We govern according to the United States Constitution.

If you now find that simple reality to be ojectionable, and if you want big government Sharia law governing our lives where it is religion and not the Constitution which determines the law, then move to Saudi Arabia

“I would ask you how in the world does it affect you and your loved ones if the two men or two women down the street or across the country, love each other?”

That’s what I’ve been saying since I first heard about people trying to prevent other people from trying to marry, and no one has given me a reasonable answer. Quoting from the buybull isn’t an answer.

They still don’t get it. The thing about civil rights is that they apply to ALL of us. You don’t get to vote away other citizen’s civil rights, no matter how icky you may think they are.

you should see the commentary on posts on WLOS13’s fb page(local asheville news)… a rather ‘uncivil war’ between the sides… and the scary thing is, that the ones who don’t want same sex marriage cannot seem to understand that you cannot vote an unconstitutional bill into law no matter how big a majority you have! And the only reason they had a majority at all, was the amendment one was a last minute addition to the 2012 republican primary, meaning that the proportion of republicans to democrats voting was way skewed! I am so tired of seeing people quote Bible verses and talk about God is judging and these are sinners and so on and so forth.

At one point, I ended one of my own comments with: Civilization is evolving, you can’t hold it back… you will have to adapt somehow and realize that just because two same sex people get married, it really does not affect you at all, or your personal relationship with whatever God you believe in….unless you spew hate and judgement, and your God demands love!

    • whatthe46 October 12th, 2014 at 17:18

“…and your God demands love!” they don’t care about that part. besides they seem to be making up their own GOD’s law.

As for Tillis’ stunt….of defending the ban for the voters…he has to know by now it’s a done deal! there is no turning back. I strongly suspect this is a desperate attempt to mobilize angry conservative voters so that he can displace Sen Kay Hagan in Congress…..

Abbot, losing his large lead over Wendy in texas has come out and reiterated his stance of fighting for the morality of Texas and will constinue to fight for justice.
