Rove To GOP: When Republicans Win In November, No ‘Score Settling’

Posted by | October 9, 2014 11:05 | Filed under: Politics Top Stories

Karl Rove is sure of Republican victories this November, so much so, that he is warning against anyone doing a happy dance. From the WSJ:

Mr. Obama is not the only person who must decide how to proceed. Whatever path the president chooses, Republicans must settle on a course, too. They should understand that, while it is insane to assume good faith from Mr. Obama, they should not make score-settling with the administration their priority.

Voters want Republicans to restrain Mr. Obama from further bad actions and oversee, and in some cases investigate, misdeeds and gross mismanagement. Even more, however, they want Republicans to tackle the problems facing Americans, especially middle-class Americans. This means the GOP should start with measures to strengthen the economy and help job creation.

So essentially now that he’s said this it’s Democratic landslide victories in full effect.

It’s laughable to him say: “This means the GOP should start with measures to strengthen the economy and help job creation”….. Well actually this goes against everything the republicans have been doing since a black man got elected President. They’ve done nothing but sabotage our country for years.

Classic television–right up there with the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan show. I tuned in just in time to see it too. I laughed my ass off.

    • William October 9th, 2014 at 13:38

I thought what was going through Roves mind was “Oh shit I just pissed away so much of the Koch brothers money”, and he was contemplating a visit from Koch staff member Rocco.

  8. wpadon October 9th, 2014 at 11:34

We already have Speaker Boehner’s five point job plan.

    • M D Reese October 9th, 2014 at 12:36

Would that be 1) NO 2) NO WAY IN HELL 3) OVER MY DEAD BODY 4) NOT IN A MILLION YEARS 5) NOT IF I HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY ABOUT IT! ?

Sounds like Rove is saying, please don’t beat up on us anymore when we lose in November because we don’t want our fee fee’s hurt anymore than they will be.

    • M D Reese October 9th, 2014 at 12:34

He’s probably sending a dog whistle to progressives to pleasepleaseplease not beat the GOPTPers up when they go down in flames.

    • Dwendt44 October 9th, 2014 at 15:48

More like his ‘FEE’. If he loses big again, those millions will dry up and he won’t be able to pay himself those millions he has been in the past.

Will he be doing a play by play on Fox News again? I’d love to watch another of his melt-downs.

    • Clear_view October 9th, 2014 at 12:06

And the outcome will be loss of house too for repubes.

    • M D Reese October 9th, 2014 at 12:32

It was a classic! I just happened to switch over to Fox at the right moment to catch the whole thing.

Can I happy dance so long as I do it quietly and sitting down?

It’ll be the end of Rove if he spends millions on losers again. They almost tarred and feathered him the last time.
The trouble i see is, there is no counter-offensive from the democrats, where i’m at, I see no push for votes, no support for Obama, no democrat calling out the repub.
What the republicans have done the past two years and the last 6 years is repulsive, so much so they should be fighting for their lives instead of walking around claiming they have already won.

    • NW10 October 9th, 2014 at 12:07

I actually got a visit from Fairshare, a progressive organization, to ensure that I’m registered to vote for the November elections. I’m hopeful that Fairshare is doing this across the country.

      • M D Reese October 9th, 2014 at 12:31

That’s good to know. I hope so too.

    • mea_mark October 9th, 2014 at 12:09

I think part of that goes to Steve Israel of the DCCC. The democrats need to get rid of him really badly.

the right hasn’t done anything for the people since Obama was elected, why should they start now? Maybe we will get lucky and Rove will melt down so much at the results they will FINALLY carry him off in the straight jacket he so richly deserves……

    • M D Reese October 9th, 2014 at 12:30

I only watch Fox on election nights–I love to check in with them when things aren’t going their way. Rove was a scream at the last election.

I have a fresh bag of organic popcorn that I plan to pop up in coconut oil on election night. Party!

    • Dwendt44 October 9th, 2014 at 15:45

The ‘right’ hasn’t done anything for the people since Nixon was in office.
