Republican Rep. Duncan Hunter Falsely Claims ‘At Least’ 10 ISIS Fighters Apprehended On Texas Border

The San Diego congressman says he was told this by U.S. border patrol “sources.”

“If you really want to protect Americans from ISIS, you secure the southern border — it’s that simple,” he said. “They caught them at the border, therefore we know that ISIS is coming across the border. If they catch five or 10 of them then you know there’s going to be dozens more that did not get caught by the border patrol,” he said…

Two of the country’s top intelligence officials said last month they had no credible evidence to support the theory that militants are operating next door, nor that they are plotting to sneak across the border.

A spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security said Wednesday that Hunter’s claim otherwise was “categorically false.”

“The suggestion that individuals who have ties to ISIL have been apprehended at the Southwest border is categorically false, and not supported by any credible intelligence or the facts on the ground,” DHS spokeswoman Marsha Catron told The Huffington Post. “DHS continues to have no credible intelligence to suggest terrorist organizations are actively plotting to cross the southwest border.”

I’m sure at some point he we’ll see some back peddling claiming his words were taken out of context or blame his “source” for providing incorrect information. When you tell lies, you’re a liar but in the world of politics that’s the norm rather than the exception, so no shocking revelation here.

Duncan Hunter doesn’t backpedal. He’s an extremist who actually believes his own lies.

Yeah, right after the elections. I expect we will see a lot of lying and deceiving going on between now and the elections.

Mexicans, Muslim fanatics, what’s the difference?

To Republicans, if you’re not a white Anglo-saxon evangelical Protestant, you’re the enemy.

    • granpa.usthai October 9th, 2014 at 10:41

True, they both have some similar letters, so for the home school party that doesn’t read english too well, it’s understandable.

Whether it’s Duncan Hunter’s anonymous border guard or Nancy Pelosi’s anonymous “Republican friend,” if you don’t have a name, you ain’t got no game.

One of my favorite wrenches to toss into the right wing wacko paranoia machine. Yesterday a co-worker fueled by the Eric Cartman like rants of screech Levine warned me of the impending attack by Isis extremists flooding over the Mexican border. I replied. “Including 911, the Boston marathon, the Times square bomber and any others you can think of, just how many terrorists have arrived here via Mexico?”.
First the eyes dilate, then you can actually see the moment when the few remaining brain cells seize up like a cheap lawn mower out of oil.
    It’s a beautiful thing.

    Hey Duncan…
    If ya are gonna lie..
    make it a big lie..
Why stop at 10 when you can say 100?

    • granpa.usthai October 9th, 2014 at 10:37

I think 10 million would have been better, then his staff can always use news videos of ISIS forces and claim they’re taken in east California heading straight for downtown … ‘HOLLYVOOOOOOOOOOD”! (with a Japanese accent).

Yes, Duncan is a second generation kind of stoopid who “represents” San Diego’s east county and follows very closely in his father’s footsteps. This is a leap for him as he usually sticks to bread and butter military issues. I guess he sees the klown kar filling up and wants in!
