Lindsey Graham Could Explore White House Bid

Posted by | October 3, 2014 19:05 | Filed under: Politics Top Stories

South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham says if he wins reelection he’ll explore running for president. According to the Weekly Standard:

“If I get through my general election, if nobody steps up in the presidential mix, if nobody’s out there talking—me and McCain have been talking—I may just jump in to get to make these arguments,” Graham said…

[Senator John] McCain likes what he sees in the emerging GOP field, but acknowledges that he’s told Graham to think about running. “I’ve strongly encouraged him to give it a look. I think Lindsey has vast and deep experience on these issues that very few others have. I happen to like a lot of these guys—I like Jeb Bush, Chris Christie.

Now we’re talking! Lindsey defeated his TP challenger and will go hard right to shore up the extreme fringie wing. And, he no scruples to stop him, either. McCain for Veep?

Maybe McCain and Graham can write a book together. How to turn America into a theocracy and wage war against whomever. Would be a big hit with the RWNJs. Can you think of a better reason for them to run?

More war on the Middle East and Russia comes to mind. Bigger defense budgets and no social services. Oh, Social Security is turned over to Wall St.

Well, they aren’t going to actually win. That is pretty much a given. They can sell some books though and tell their loyal Goper followers what they want to here in a book and make lots of money.

No, so it’s easy for them to go all out crazy on starting wars because ‘Murica is threatened.

John McCain is one of my bigger political disappointments in recent memory. Back in 2000 in his “Straight Talk Express” campaign against George W. Bush, California had what was essentially an open primary. On a ballot that included Al Gore, I voted for John McCain.

Would I have voted for him in the general election? I don’t honestly know. I know that in the primaries in 2000, he sounded like a man who might be able to pull the country back together after the tumultuous Clinton years. Some in the GOP obviously saw him as a threat, given the dirty tricks related to spreading rumors about an illegitimate black love-child.

But by 2008 his evil twin had taken over and he saw fit to nominate a clueless, divisive empty dress to assume the job of being a heartbeat away from the Presidency.

Sen. McCain what happened to the guy from 2000?

I did the same thing, I backed him in 2000 and I am now so happy I didn’t have the chance to vote for him. I have learned so much more about him since and I would never let him clean up my dog poop let alone have his finger near the “button”.

Acronyms are hard. After all this time I read that as “Lindsay defeated his toilet paper challenger …”. Am I inappropriate?

No, but you are boldly going where many lefties have gone before.

think maybe you could come up with a better reason than I’ll ‘think’ about not being your senator in 2 years if you vote me back in now, Lindsey? – might leave a few disappointed folks if you embarrassed them and their state for another six years. Hows about something a little more decisive than ‘think about it’?

Imagine, John McCain as FLOTUS of the Graham administration! Who says the GOP isn’t reaching out?

If Lindsey Graham in 2016~ is serious, then any potential first lady speculation is on the table and might include Rudy in a dress, Christie or any of the other tea gobblers.

The Cruz, The Opthamologist, Bushie 3, Meat Loaf Christie, Oops Perry, Kochboy Walker, “I-am-not-insane” Carson, and now Lady Graham. Think the primary debates will be fun this time around? And when it all comes down, I bet they go for 47% Mittens again. Definitely going to need more popcorn.

Of course Obama is, in fact, our first black president.
Hillary would be our first female president.
Graham would be the first president to mince when he walks…
