Jury Finds Michael Dunn Guilty Of First-Degree Murder In Killing Of Jordan Davis

On Wednesday, Michael Dunn, a Florida resident, was found guilty of first-degree murder for the killing of 17-year-old Jordan Davis in September of 2012 after an argument over loud music, a case which garnered national attention.

It only took the jury about 5 hours to reach a verdict. In contrast, a jury was deadlocked in February as to whether to convict Dunn.

The Huffington Post reports:

He was convicted on three counts of attempted murder for shooting at Davis’ friends in the car.

Dunn testified at this month’s trial as well as his last that he killed Davis in self-defense after the teen threatened him. He also said he thought Davis had a gun, but no weapon was ever found.

At a press conference after the verdict was read, Davis’ father, Ron, told reporters, “We must do a better job of loving each other.”

In an argument over loud music, Dunn fired 10 times into an SUV carrying 17-year-old Jordan Davis and three of his friends. Later, Dunn alleged that he felt his life as in danger. The case was compared to the Trayvon Martin shooting in that Dunn tried to use a Stand Your Ground-type defense, even though his life was never in danger, unless music kills.

Hopefully citizens are waking up to the BS that this ‘stand your ground law’ really is, RIP Jordan Davis,

I dont know why he wasn’t found guilty in the first trial..
Either way, he will be spending the rest of his life in prison..
    Where he belongs.

    “…unless music kills.”

Muzak will make you want to kill yourself…does that count?

ps…glad the jury got it right. Justice for Jordan Davis, and hopefully this may avert a future similar tragedy.

I dunno. The church behind my house has been holding a revival-tent type thingy for the past week or so. It was nice the first couple of nights, but now I’m totally losing it.

Lived in a city for only a few years, didn’t care for it at all, but to be truthful I’m not a great neighbor either so it’s a good thing I live where I do.

This is a small town sort of place. I’m glad I don’t live in Manhattan anymore. Relatively speaking, this is a small city with more of a community spirit.

It’s like Mickey D’s when your hungry….tastes good when you start, but you quickly get your fill and can’t take any more.

Also, at some point I need to be able to fall asleep. These guys are using microphones and at times it makes the walls shake.

Sounds like you need to throw a nice backyard party with entertainment provided by a decent and very loud death-metal band. If it helps, I know the manager of Zombie Spawn. They could turn that revival into a devival in seconds. And their amps go up to 11.

I’m not so sure Anomaly’s neighborhood would be up for a death metal band. It’s a lovely small area, kind of set off by itself. The neighbors are all friendly and know each other. However, Anomaly is one of just a few youngsters on the street. I’d guess the average age to be 70.

Yes, yes she would. The adorable couple on the other side might be a bit perplexed.

Sometimes that couple is not so adorable. You know how it is, you live next door to someone and you learn all sides to them. She’s pedantic and when my lawn is cut, if one blade of grass gets on her property, all hell breaks lose!

What surprised me about Dunn in this trial was how arrogant he was when he said he would have shot at the vehicle Davis was in ”50 times” if that’s what it took because he was afraid his life was in danger.

Who says that when there’s a dead teen, who didn’t have a gun he could have used to threaten you, lying in a cold, dark grave because you put him there?

I believe Michael Dunn became very angry at Jordan Davis because Davis had the nerve to talk back to him, and Dunn figured if JD wouldn’t listen to his words, he make him pay.

Michael Dunn’s anger and loss of control has resulted in him probably spending the rest of his natural life in jail. I’m now wondering whether there exists other instances of Dunn losing control and doing something stupid to someone else. Something about this entire incident and the way it unfolded tells me this probably wasn’t the first time Dunn lost control of his temper and retaliated against someone because he couldn’t have his way.

Listen to Dunn talk – he is a wimp! It took 50 shots to build his ego.

anomaly, speaking of ferguson, i just read an article… The Ferguson grand jury investigating the shooting death of Michael Brown is under investigation for misconduct. if what’s being reported is accurate, its a big one.

    • tracey marie October 1st, 2014 at 20:27

Seems an activist and friend of the killer cop is on the jury and tweeting “there is not enough evidence to indict”

      • whatthe46 October 1st, 2014 at 21:00

yeah i read the tweets. if this doesn’t make the feds take over the entire case, what will?
