Values Voters Choose Cruz

Texas Senator Ted Cruz won the straw poll for president at the Value Voters Summit with 25% of the vote.

The victory is a big victory to the Republican firebrand and Tea Party icon, coming just a day after he drew standing ovations with a religious and emotional speech that blasted ObamaCare, congressional Democrats and called for Republicans to take over the White House in 2016. Cruz also won the straw poll in 2013.

Coming in second was neurosurgeon Ben Carson, a political novice who has a large following in conservative circles but said earlier this week that there is a “strong” likelihood that he would run for president. He won 20 percent of the votes.

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (R) came in third, with 12 percent of the vote.

As a signal of Carson’s popularity at the summit, the former Johns Hopkins University neurosurgeon came in first in the polling for vice president, winning 22 percent of the votes.

Yes Ted, people having health insurance is surely a sign of the end times.

Hilary, spend a year enjoying your new grandchild. Then in 2015 announce your candidacy for President of the United States. Then if the GOP is crazy enough to give Cruz the nomination, the 2016 result will be a Republican catastrophe of Goldwater proportions as America categorically rejects the insane notion that more people having health insurance is a bad thing but more people having guns makes us safer.

So the Republicans still don’t have anybody credible to run. Things are looking good for Mitt to give it another shot — at selling more books while campaigning, that is.

maybe Republicans are thinking it won’t look so bad in the history books if it’s another mudslide compared to a 1% voter turn out due to REPUBLICAN voter suppression?

what if he winds up having to debate himself because nobody is willing to waste their time to hear a Canadian born Cuban with no USA birth certificate?

He can debate against Green Eggs and Ham. They will listen to him.

circus is starting a little early, AGAIN! – this is the mid term elections for 2014, Republican Teabaggers. elections for 2016 is still 2 years and a month plus away. Know you’re all excited about how well the REPUBLICAN voter suppression will work, but have you dumbasses stopped to think – what if the general population don’t give a damn? – will be your white boy that will suffer the kickback on that one.

So, the nutty section of the party elects the nuttiest to lead them, no surprise here. You would think these people would realize “we do not reflect a very big segment of the population. Maybe education, health insurance, and creating policies that won’t destroy the environment isn’t a bad thing, maybe we should open our minds and learn to compromise cause were dying off”, but not a chance in hell will that ever happen.

    • tiredoftea September 28th, 2014 at 14:27

Silly goose, religious education, no health care unless you can pay for it, destroying the environment, low wage jobs and voting for white people only are their values!

I just don’t know why the light bulbs don’t go off, something has gotta click.

Light bulbs need electricity to work. There is very little going to the brain stems of our esteemed opposition.

Well, the annual village idiots gathering ends with the predictable crowning of the idiot in chief! Congratulations to this year’s winner of the “Joe McCarthy Freedom” Award.
