Pew: White Evangelicals Consider Themselves An Oppressed Minority

[E]vangelicals are less sanguine about their position in American society, with one-third (34%) saying it has become more difficult to be an evangelical Christian in the U.S. Consistent with this, three-in-ten white evangelical Protestants say they think of themselves as a religious minority because of their religious beliefs.

I went to a fundamentalist church in one of those metal barns in Florida when I was a teenager on a sorta bet
If I go to church with my friend.
She will drive me to the George Michael concert.
I felt as if I was getting the better end of the deal… until I went to that god awful Church with her

To them, anything that takes a little away from their overwhelming sense of Christian privilege and entitlement is oppression. I’m sure groups that have faced real discrimination and prejudice would love to trade them for awhile.
