A St. Louis woman died when she was struck by an SUV outside of a Walgreens store in the area, just after pushing her 10-year-old daughter out of the vehicle’s path.

The St. Louis Fire Department said the girl wasn’t injured in the Monday incident, according to KMBC.

According to the police, the mother and daughter were walking out of the store when an SUV driver accidentally hit the gas pedal. Authorities said the driver swerved to avoid the building before hitting the 33-year-old woman.

The mother was pinned against a pillar and died at the scene.

The driver was treated on the scene for minor injuries.

Thus far, no charges have been reported. The identities of the three involved have not been released at this time.

How do you hit the gas pedal and not realize it right away and STOP hitting the gas pedal? I know that I usually figure that shit out quickly when I’m behind the wheel.

How old was the driver? Seems old people and texting people are very good at killing people by hitting the gas and then get away without any consequences
