Images: These Heavily Armed Women At Open Carry Rally Feel Gun Laws Are Too Strict In Texas

Women with Open Carry Texas held a rally on Saturday called “Goddesses with Guns” in which mostly men showed up. The group made an appearance in San Antonio to prove that all Moms do not support gun control. You see, they feel that gun laws are too lax in ‘shoot ’em up’ Texas.

In their honor, here are a few pictures of women at the rally who feel that their state’s gun laws are too strict.

I remember Easy Bake Ovens and Play-Doh, but now it’s guns for their children, because freedom.

The point of Open Carry marches is to highlight that in Texas, there are certain illegalities to carrying a handgun outside of a person’s residence. A person may legally carry, either open or concealed, in a non-threatening or alarming manner, a shotgun or rifle, so they do even though it alarms others.

One must always have a rifle when ready to give birth just in case the baby kicks.

Very few people showed up for the rally. The “Goddesses” were mostly men. If your rifle toting gang frightens passersby, then your state’s gun laws are not strict.

Big thanks to my source for the images.

Never met a woman that needed a gun to hold my heart.

    Ladies, you’re doing something wrong.

They are clearly not looking to hold your anything.

    Texas, again??
There has to be something in the water or the air down there…

“Activists bringing rifles into Texas chain stores in recent weeks have put the state at the center of a national fight over “open-carry” laws, reinforcing many Americans’ perception of the Lone Star State as a haven for gun rights.

In reality, Texas has one of the nation’s more restrictive laws on the carrying of handguns—a policy that firearms-rights groups and state legislators are fighting to change. Those efforts, however, have been unsuccessful: Legislation in recent years proposing to allow people to carry handguns visibly has stalled.

Now, some Texas gun-rights supporters are concerned that negative publicity over the recent protests will make their struggle even tougher.

Proponents of open carry say they have resorted to toting long arms such as rifles into chains like Target and Chipotle to make a point—because it is all they are legally permitted to do.

“We’d much rather carry a handgun,” said Terry Holcomb Sr., executive director of Texas Carry, one of the open-carry advocacy groups active across the state. “A long gun is not conducive to everyday personal defense, going to work, going out, going shopping.”

        Thanks Miz Julia~!
Always a pleasure to read your comments…

And when I make disparaging comments about ‘Texas’..
        I do so in jest..:)

Here in Missouri, there are already “open carry” laws..
Anyone can openly carry a weapon..
But to have a weapon (concealed) requires a permit..
        It’s crazy town..
I own guns, but I dont brandish them in public..
They collect dust in the closet.

What these people who feel they must display themselves with weapons in public..
I suspect they have some mental health issues..

Hey Stoney, thanks. ;-)) It’s easy to pile on Texas for any number of reasons, like Louis Gohmert and Ted (sees red) Cruz, ha!

And it’s pretty absurd that you can use a Texas concealed handgun license issued by DPS for ID to vote, but you can’t use a student ID with a picture. That’s why I’m going to TWU to register voters a week from Tuesday!

Is that Texas Wesleyan? Because Texas Western is the old name for UTEP. Never mind, I looked it up. It’s Texas Women’s.

These deluded women ought to go over to the Middle East. They would scare the crap out of ISIS.

      • Miz Julia September 21st, 2014 at 14:31

The open display of boobery might scare ISIS. ;-) And they would confiscate the guns, just as they’ve done with so many of the US supplied weapons to Iraqi troops and “moderate” rebels of one sort or another. Oy.

If a person wants to have a weapon around their child is one thing, why they wish to expose their child to the danger of so many others w/guns is hard for me to understand.

    • Tom Ward September 21st, 2014 at 13:08

What danger? Did anyone get hurt at this rally? (I’m assuming not because that would have been the top article on Alan.com).

I see Alan posting articles of gun accidents happening every other day or so, but that is out of the entire country, which means the chances of actual danger are pretty low. For example, if there’s only a 0.0000001% chance of you being accidentally shot at a gun rally… big deal. :-/

      • Dwendt44 September 21st, 2014 at 13:24

I’m very sure that Alan could post thousands more cases of gun violence should he choose to do so. That’s because 30,000 are dead because of guns each year.

        • Larry Schmitt September 21st, 2014 at 13:42

Since “guns save lives,” imagine how many more than the 30,000 would have died without the guns. Isn’t logic fun?

          • Dwendt44 September 21st, 2014 at 14:02

      • arc99 September 21st, 2014 at 14:04

The danger comes from encouraging proliferation of firearms with the underlying dishonesty that more guns make us safer. The fact is that more guns make us more vulnerable to the carelessness or negligence of “good guys with guns”.

More cars on the freeway do not make driving safer. It makes us more likely to be killed or injured by a negligent driver. The same applies to guns.

More guns in society mean more opportunities to be injured or killed by negligence. That is my beef with the whole pro gun movement. Increasing the opportunities for any of us to be accidentally killed or injured does not make us safer

        • Dwendt44 September 21st, 2014 at 14:07

Even back in the ‘Wild West’ days, the sheriff often would ban sidearms in town. A lot safer with saloons and uneducated cowboys all around.
