Top Gun Rights Group Who Partnered With Open Carry Texas, Backs White Supremacist’s Supreme Court Case

Samuel Johnson, a white supremacist with a lengthy rap sheet, who a couple years ago was accused of plotting an attack on a Mexican consulate, has ended up drawing a 15-year prison term on a gun charge, and his case is now on his way to the US Supreme Court.

Mother Jones reports, “Johnson has won the vocal backing of a top gun rights group…”

That group is Gun Owners of America, who partnered with Open Carry Texas.

Johnson garnered the attention of the FBI in 2010 some time after he started organizing anti-immigration rallies in Minnesota. He was a member of a neo-Nazi group, then left to start his own group, the Aryan Liberation Movement.

Mother Jones reports:

According to court documents, Johnson and another man, Joseph Thomas, were planning an attack on the Mexican consulate in Minneapolis for May 1, 2012. Law enforcement swooped in before the attack could be launched. Thomas was arrested on drug charges and ultimately pleaded guilty to a meth possession charge and sentenced to 10 years in prison.

When he was arrested, Johnson admitted to possessing an AK-47 and a .22-caliber semi-automatic handgun, plus ammo for both—a big no-no given that, as a convicted felon, he was barred from owning weapons.

Gun Owners of America (GOA) threw in their support with Johnson and filed an amicus brief on his behalf with the court in July.

Larry Pratt, GOA’s executive director said, “Nobody’s interested in defending the guy per se. In fact, if anything I resent him more because who he is could mess [the law] up for a lot of really innocent people. Bad cases make bad law.”

You are who you walk with.

Open Carry Texas previously made plans for an armed march in a predominately black neighborhood, but could not comprehend the uproar, even though the leader of the group opted out to speak at a John Birch Society meeting instead.

By the way, C.J. Grisham, the leader of OCT, called me ‘the biggest liar on the Internet’  in regards to me saying he spoke at a John Birch Society meeting.

This image was posted by C.J.’s wife:

These gun groups have a race problem.

Mother Jones has a detailed article on Johnson’s court case here.

Big thanks to my Internet friend out there, whose anonymity will be respected here.

The extreme right gun zealots are a threat to civil society, as this shows. It’s not about gun laws, it is about removing any law they don’t like so they can keep living their anti-social and ignorant lives.

I don’t think ignorance can be applied to these yahoo leaders anymore, they know what they are doing and what their premise is behind it all. And your first part is right regarding laws, but instead of ignorance, it’s using those laws as a means to segregate while trying to weaken gun laws *in their favor*, under the guise of protecting themselves from what they call *criminal thugs* (an obvious euphemism). If these racist pricks really were concerned about all freedoms, they would’ve shown up at Ferguson with weapons pointed at law enforcement.
