There’s Something Really Phishy About Open Carry Texas

Posted by | August 30, 2014 12:07 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics Top Stories

Open Carry Texas’s website appears to have been hacked and infested with Malware. So, who will their fearless leader C.J. Grisham blame this attack on? Benghazi? The IRS? Obummer? The NSA?

Naturally, the group is blaming gun control advocates, just because.

Or – and I’m just going to throw this out there — it could be that they’re using a cheap server, so that when they get more than a few hundred hits (The site gets very little traffic), then it’s an inadvertent DDOS of sorts of their own site, because they were too cheap to use a better server.

Or it could be spammers. Porn spammers are notorious for this. On FreakOutNation we had as many as 10,000 hack attempts in a day, according to our admin. We did not immediately think: It must be an Open Carry group!

Open Carry Texas’s problem is probably just a cheap VPS service and an equally crappy admin.

SiteCheck notes in regard to OCT’s site, “Your site appears to be hacked. Hacked sites can lose nearly 95% of your traffic in as little as 24 to 48 hours if not fixed immediately – losing your organic rankings and being blocked by Google, Bing and many other blacklists. Hacked sites can also expose your customers and readers private and financial information, and turn your site into a host for dangerous malware and illicit material, creating massive liability. Secure your site now with Sucuri.” (my bold)

Tick tock. The 24 hours time period is up in 3…2…

An armed  protest of Whole Foods was to take place today but it looks like it’s not going to happen. i suppose Facebook was hacked, too?

See, they should know that good guys with secure servers beat bad guys with insecure servers. Ahh, just look at the images of those gun freaks when they are strutting their metal junk in stores and parking lots; that’s what I call malware!

Open Carry Tex-ass’ website being hacked couldn’t happen to a more deserving group of right-wing jerks.

It’s not hate speech when ***WE*** do it! (?)

Intrusive behavior being objected to by open carriers; just a bit hypocritical.

Hacking is illegal….Open carry is not…..just saying

“Porn spammers are notorious for this. On FreakOutNation we had as many as 10,000 hack attempts in a day, according to our admin.”

    Interesting credentials. You’re anti-self defense, and pro-pornography.

    • R.J. Carter August 30th, 2014 at 19:08

Interesting comment, directed at a gun-owning feminist.

Heh. I don’t know where he gets the pro-porn from (or the anti-self defense), although, I’m not anti-porn either. They tried to hack us. I didn’t exactly invite them:-)

        • Richard Carew September 2nd, 2014 at 06:48

The article itself speaks volumes as a slant toward OCT. OCT is about our self defense rights. Slanting their cause seems a bit “anti”.

“Our Admin” “we had” “us” “I”…all indicate you support and/or work for the porn industry. A much bigger problem in this country than guns are.

Can you see where my statement comes from now?

          • Anomaly 100 September 2nd, 2014 at 08:45

“Can you see where my statement comes from now?”

No, absolutely not. I’m sorry but you’re coming off as a little bit crazy. How the hell am I part of or supportive of porn spammers when they’ve targeted *my* site in the past? Tons upon tons of people have targeted my site. I’m not down with them either.

You are not reading what’s in the post.

I’ll type this slowly.”I” “us’ “we” “our admin” all refer to those that maintained our site. Not to the porn spammers.

As for OCT, they should thank me for my advice since we’re not friendly at all. I’m not surprised you’re supportive of them. They aren’t realistic either.

            • Richard Carew September 2nd, 2014 at 18:08

If I mis-read the initial article, then that’s my bad. I remember being a bit tired when I read it, so misreading is a possibility. But it initially came across to me as the author worked for a porn site at one time. Hence my comment.

As far as supporting OCT goes. I support ANYBODY who is trying to retain our constitutional rights…all of our rights. I took an oath to do that, as well as defend those rights from all enemies, foreign or DOMESTIC, when I entered the military. I will honor that oath, because to do otherwise is dishonorable. I realize honor isn’t a strong suite for most liberals, so I’ll not try and explain it to you here.
But mark my words…there are a LOT more trained veterans willing to give their life if needed to defend those rights, than there is military or law enforcement (or liberal civilians) willing to take them away. That’s something EVERYBODY should give some thought to.

“But mark my words…there are a LOT more trained veterans willing to give their life if needed to defend those rights..”

You’re wrong again. #1) No is trying to take your guns. #2) You will never, ever win against the military. (see: drones).

If you want to start a war, just make sure you’re not in my vicinity because the military is a force to be reckoned with. Don’t make threats. Your buddies at the Bundy ranch got a psss. It might not happen next time.

And seriously, this made you think I was a porn spammer?:

“Or it could be spammers. Porn spammers are notorious for this. On FreakOutNation we had as many as 10,000 hack attempts in a day, according to our admin. We did not immediately think: It must be an Open Carry group!”

Wow, you’re absolutely clueless. You should read some history. Governments don’t grant themselves permissions, unless they plan on executing that authority at some point. PERIOD.

And I made no threats. Not even a little. I stated verifiable facts. And for the record, if the people did rise up, it wouldn’t be an act of war, it would be an act of self defense. (I thought you supported that?) And don’t even try to school me on the military. I’ve actually been there. And everything has a weak point, even your precious drones.

I’m done here. You just have too much to learn, and I don’t have enough free time to keep teaching you for free.

You are right about one thing, you are done here.

Talk about clueless, how about giving the a site host a hard time. Do you think that is a winning strategy? Ooops, my bad, you can’t respond, you are done here.

Just a tip, in the future think a little bit more about what you are saying before you say it. Especially if you are going to be so critical of the authors and hosts.
