Republican Congressman Expresses Anger About Obama’s Tan Suit
It’s been a fun joke, but Long Island Republican Congressman Peter King was serious. King was also pissed off that the president talked about the economy when an American was beheaded.
Click here for reuse options!Summer suits, according to Rep. King, are not appropriate garb for talking about terrorism or ISIS, and especially when the President says he doesn’t have a strategy to deal with the resurgence of terrorism.
“For him to walk out — I’m not trying to be trivial here — in a light suit, light tan suit, saying that first he wants to talk about what most Americans care about the revision of second quarter numbers on the economy,” he seethed. “This is a week after Jim Foley was beheaded and he’s trying to act like real Americans care about the economy, not about ISIS and not about terrorism. And then he goes on to say he has no strategy.”

King doesn’t want is for the president to talk about how the economy is improving, especially since he and his buddies have been saying for the last five years that “President Obama is bad for the U.S. economy.” I think this is the real reason he decided to criticize the president’s suit and talk about terrorism. If I didn’t know any better, I’d think Rep. King has no constitutional role to play in foreign policy. I also think that the reason so many republicans are portraying themselves as powerless is because they already know that if the president asks them to participate in crafting a strategy, they’ll run and find somewhere to hide.
