Open Carry Texas: Armed Man With Baby In Kroger Proves ‘An Armed Society Is A Polite Society’ Because Derp

Posted by | August 27, 2014 10:05 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics Top Stories

Target, Chipotle, Sonic, Chili’s Grill & Bar, Jack in the Box and Starbucks have all implemented gun policies due to the extreme efforts of Open Carry groups bringing long guns into family-friendly establishments. Kroger is another target for Open Carry activists.

The groups appear to be running out of stores to inundate with their self-defeating activism. In July,  Open Carry Texas wrote in response to Target’s new gun policy, “While this is not a ban on legally possessed firearms in its stores, we will continue to honor our months long policy of not taking long arms into Target stores or any other business.”

Last week, this man brought a loaded weapon into a Kroger store while holding a baby, because freedom.

In response, Open Carry Texas wrote that this image proves that “an armed society is a polite society.”

“We need to remove the stigma of these guns,” the group wrote on Facebook.

Perhaps the baby in the image isn’t helping to further their cause. Nevertheless, they write, “These gun control extremists are emotional activists, trying to scare people about the sight of guns.”

If the father in the picture needed to defend himself with the gun strapped to his back, what would he do with the baby? Would he throw the baby across his back to protect it while shooting at the bad guy with a gun? Or just toss it in the air and then catch it after shooting the bad guy that isn’t there? I’m just asking questions here out of curiosity. Unless of course this startling image is merely for political reasons and his baby is being used like a tool just to piss of Moms Demand Action, because derp.

Dollars to donuts the gun humper in the picture is ‘pro-life,’ too.

Where do these people live that they’re unsafe going to a grocery store? Or, how big of wusses are they that they have to carry a gun the way Linus carries his blanket?

    • M D Reese August 27th, 2014 at 12:39

It’s the wuss thing. Most of them had probably never even been in a grocery store before–that’s women’s work.
Speaking of women, I wonder if the baby’s mother is OK with hubby’s “open carry” statement?

  2. mea_mark August 27th, 2014 at 10:19

Kroger sells alcohol, they broke the law by letting him bring the gun in the store. TABC should investigate the crimes committed here and tell Kroger they may lose their license to sell alcoholic beverages if it continues. This lawlessness by ammosexuals should not be allowed. The law needs to be applied fairly to all or what is the point in having laws. If certain groups are allowed to not follow the laws then nobody should.

My first thought was “Infants as body armor? That’s sick”. My second thought was “This guy’s stupid enough to run for office as a republican”. My third thought was “Yay mea_mark”

Time to send these ammosexuals over to Iraq to fight ISIS.

    • Anomaly 100 August 27th, 2014 at 10:58

Oh puh-leaze. They wouldn’t fight ISIS. They’d *join* ISIS.

      • M D Reese August 27th, 2014 at 12:36

They do have a lot in common–they even dress alike.

      • basedonfact August 27th, 2014 at 16:12

Not one of these people would ever put themselves in a position where what they were shooting at could shoot back

From his tweet: I received overwhelming support from doing this this morning. From an assistant manager as well as 3 other Kroger workers who specifically went out of their way to show support and come over and talk to me. I received thanks from them as well

My gut feeling is that all these Kroger’s employees came over to make sure you weren’t about to go all psycho killer in the store, and the thanks were just being courteous so as to do everything to keep you calm.

    • MIAtheistGal August 27th, 2014 at 12:06

      What’s his twitter handle?

Opps….looking at above where I got it from, upon closer examination, it appears to be a blog. Sorry. Not real good at these tech things…ancestors were Luddites.

Alan Colmes is a typical hypocrite liberal, he drones on and supports luis lerner exercising her constitutional right to plead the 5th, but pee’s his pants when gun owners want to exercise their constitutional rights. Sorry colmes you can’t pick and chose the rights that benefit your wacked political beliefs.

It’s nice to have the contrast, isn’t it?

        • tiredoftea August 27th, 2014 at 13:16

Yes, the Nobel panelists here need a little comic relief from our excessively intellectual nature.

    • Abby Normal August 27th, 2014 at 11:34

Did you think that up all by yourself or did the voices help you?

    • Denise August 27th, 2014 at 11:34

How do you even make the leap from a man endangering a child with a loaded AR to Luis Lerner taking the 5th?
One has nothing to do with the other. Rick Scott took the 5th over 70 times. Do you have a problem with that as well? He’s an elected official, he’s suppose to answer questions.

Luis Lerner took the 5th because she got damn tired of dim witted Republicans like yourself asking her questions she had already answered. Issa and Congress have wasted over $100 million investigating scandals that only existed in their LSD trips. Why aren’t you questioning that?

      • ideagal August 27th, 2014 at 16:20

I watch a lot of news…including hearings on CSPAN which are not tainted by commentators. Lois Lerner didn’t answer ANY questions…she plead the 5th either before any questions were asked (at the end of her “statement”) or after the first question. So you can’t really say she got tired of answering questions she already answered. Do liberals watch any news at all? You’re always saying things that aren’t true. Do you get all your info from other liberals, passing down stories like a bad game of “telephone” (or is it called “secrets”….I forget.)

      • Pappy Beagles August 27th, 2014 at 17:23

sorry, as usual you drone on with what your liberal masters tell you to drone on with, yet have not a clue with whats going on, no lerner has answered no questions, she took the 5th because she broke the law

Oh i see how the ammosexual will use his weapon while holding baby, notice the blue anti-gravity shoulder strap, so when he slides the baby around his back the weapon slides into firing position.
nice ammosexual day ware you have there.

No diaper bag in the pictures, so I guess his fancy rifle dispenses diapers, wipes, bottles, baby food, spoons, and a change of clothes. That’s pretty impressive.

If he were black, they’d have shot him dead. He should be charged with child endangerment and disturbance of the peace.
