NRA Tweets ‘Children Can Have Fun At The Shooting Range’ In Wake Of Arizona Uzi Shooting
Less than two days after a 9-year-old girl in Arizona accidentally shot a firearm instructor in the head with an Uzi, the National Rifle Association on Wednesday tweeted a link showing new ways for children to “have fun” at shooting ranges.
Mother Jones reports, NRA Women posted the tweet at 1:51 p.m. Pacific on Wednesday; by about 3 p.m. it had been yanked but not before I’d taken a screen shot.”
The story the NRA linked to reads in part, “These are on the top of the “fun” list. The resounding “BOOM” and puff of smoke is fun to see, hear and … smell. We shot some with a couple of LG’s teammates and had a BLAST.”
On active targets the story reads, “These targets are placed on the ground, downrange, of course. As your shot hits them they tumble, hop or jump. They are “self-healing” targets so can take hundreds of shots and still keep their shape.”
“These targets come in an assortment of shapes from various manufactures,” it continues.
“One of our favorites is the Ground Strike Jack Target from Birchwood Casey ($30.30). It looks like a big jumping jack. These interactive targets create challenging shooting opportunities,” it states.
That story was published on August 20th, yet the NRA decided to push in on Twitter today just after the girl accidentally shot and killed her instructor. That was obviously intentional.
The discussion as to whether children should be handling weapons was prompted by the shooting. After the Newtown massacre, the NRA took down their Facebook page, which magically reappeared days later.

The NRA’s final solution for their gun instructors is to be shot & killed by kids committing their first murder. The NRA solution blows away two lives, destroyed for each NRA murder. Two for one is the hallmark of every great domestic terrorist group!

The NRA is no better than big tobacco companies trying to hook kids while they’re young. This poor child will grow up knowing she killed someone. I wonder how long it will take the parents to put a gun in her hand and tell her to get back on the horse. Any parent who put a gun into a child’s hand should have them taken away.

Doesn’t work that way when humans are the targets..does it? The NRA consists of a bunch of morons trying to make shooting a gun “fun” when the reality is guns are pure death held in the hands of God knows who. So much “fun” that cops can shoot at will and anyone else with bad intentions can get what they want or kill who they wish. No…guns are not “fun” and are for one purpose only….TO KILL…
