Shoppers at a Greenville, South Carolina Walmart were horrified as they watched an officer repeatedly punching a suspect in the head while he was on the ground Saturday afternoon. The crowd gathered around what more closely resembled a severely one-sided UFC fight than an arrest begged the officer to stop as he landed blow after blow…

seems like we’ve got a serious problem with civilian law enforcement in this country…

this isn’t something we should glaze over and move on to the next story, either…this is real Civil Rights stuff, and it affects us all…

…”…and, when They came for me, there was no one left to care…”…

    Shopping While Black?

    • Khary A August 25th, 2014 at 14:57

More like shopping while not blue. Perhaps now there will be a more solidified front to the opposition against police brutality. As much as this pains me, I am a bit pleased to see this for no other reason than the idea of more allies through shared degradation. Does this lessen the truths shown of disparate persecution, no but it does show that the gang in blue is more than willing to diversify.

No… perhaps shopping while “underclass” That’s another problem in this country. I don’t think it gets talked about enough. There is some predatory behavior toward the “underclass” It happens much more than people realize. People living on the streets are often beaten to death…

Here’s a quote from David Simon.. this fits right into this “Other America” that so many people just don’t get..

“And so in my country you’re seeing a horror show. You’re seeing a
retrenchment in terms of family income, you’re seeing the abandonment of
basic services, such as public education, functional public education.
You’re seeing the underclass hunted through an alleged war on dangerous
drugs that is in fact merely a war on the poor and has turned us into
the most incarcerative state in the history of mankind, in terms of the
sheer numbers of people we’ve put in American prisons and the percentage
of Americans we put into prisons. No other country on the face of the
Earth jails people at the number and rate that we are.”

Thank you for the info.. I will check it out

that’s why the founding fathers wanted everybody to be armed to the teeth all the time (except of course when they were debating the 2nd amendment). While it’s a good idea for well regulated militias to be armed when required, it’s still the 2nd amendment right for anyone in an unregulated militia, like in Texas, to be armed to the teeth at all times. All the restrictions/laws/states rights horses*it written to prevent citizens who ain’t walking fast enough in a protest (ain’t nothing in the constitution that says a damn thing about a protesting citizen having to be in motion either) from being armed to the teeth! Americans has got the right to carry guns, knives, axes/ handgrenades/LAWS/ wet noodles or even Russian suitcases if they want!!! It’s their 2nd amendment right without the consent of the NRA greedy bums infringements. You get a overly armed unregulated militia in SC like they got in Texas – you won’t be helpless in begging YOUR government employee to do nothing.

Why is it even legal for cops to hit anyone?

What happened to this guy should be a reason for all Americans to call for stopping police officers from using unnecessary force on all citizens. If they think some officers only use unnecessary force when interacting with only certain Americans, they need to think again.

    • whatthe46 August 25th, 2014 at 19:00

no one believes they use unnecessary force only on certain Americans, but, they do use unnecessary lethal force on certain Americans. big difference.

Recently, police gunned down an African-American Walmart shopper in an open carry state because he was walking around with an air rifle he planned to buy.

All we can say at this point is that this guy was lucky he was white – Otherwise, they may have “served and protected” him into a casket.

    BINGO

“As good iron is not used to make nails. so good men are not used for soldiers.”
    –Lao Tze.
So it was with soldiers, so it seems today with police officers.

No longer is the motto of Law Enforcement “To Serve And Protect.”
Nowadays, another motto has taken it’s place:
    “I AM THE LAW!”

Judge Dredd, Drity Harry Callahagn, Francis CobrettI (from the Sylvester Stallone movie COBRA) and Frank Castle (aka The Punisher from Marvel Comics) might make for some might fine entertainment…but we have no real need of them here in The Real World.
And it is high time that Law Enforcement (at all levels) needs to stop playing “heavily armed goon squad” and remember that the folks that they are (nominally) supposed to serve-and-protect are not the enemy.
Otherwise…the dystopian world of “Judge Dredd” just might come to fruition.

Well since I wasn’t there the question would be was there probable cause? Such things as insulting people bad use of words, staggering you know the usual stuff that follows a person when they are intoxicated or under the influence of some type of drug. At least he was shot
