Missouri Police Officer Calls Ferguson Protesters ‘Rabid Dogs’ In Facebook Rant
A police officer in Missouri was suspended on Friday after he left five Facebook posts on the Ferguson protesters, including one that read,”These protesters should have been put down like a rabid dog the first night.” According to MSN, the police department in Glendale, another St Louis suburb, said on Friday that it had suspended one of its officers who expressed contempt for the Ferguson protesters on his Facebook account.
“I’m sick of these protesters. You are a burden on society and a blight on the community,” Pappert wrote in one Facebook post.
“These protesters should have been put down like a rabid dog the first night,” he added.
He also wrote: “Where is a Muslim with a backpack when you need them,” in reference to the Boston Marathon bombing.
In a statement, the Glendale Police Department said it suspended Pappert after learning about the posts on Friday. The Department also cancelled a neighborhood block party for fear it might be disrupted by protesters.
“The matter is being taken very seriously and a thorough internal investigation will be conducted to determine why the posts were made,” the statement read.
I think we can determine “why” already. 6,000 residents populate Glendale which is 97 percent white.
The statement said Pappert’s posts were “absolutely” not shared by the Glendale police or city government.
MSN reports:
Press photographers recognized Pappert as one of hundreds of St Louis area police officers called into Ferguson as crowd-control reinforcements.
One photographer clearly recalled him threatening journalists with a night stick, saying: “He was ready to swing at us.”
On Wednesday, a police lieutenant from another St Louis suburb, St Ann, was suspended after he pointed a semi-automatic assault rifle at Ferguson protesters and, in vulgar language, threatened to kill them.
Within hours, two videos of the officer’s conduct went viral on YouTube, prompting the American Civil Liberties Union to demand he be removed from duty.
On Friday, another Ferguson police officer, and a retired Army Sgt. Major, Dan Page was suspended after a full hour rant at an Oath Keepers meeting was revealed in which he deems himself to be a “killer” and of course, a Christian. Page has now been relieved of duty and ordered into psychological counseling.

One of the problems we have with the police is the fact they are suspended and not fired for inappropriate behavior. They should be fired, they should all know they are expected to know the standards are far higher for public servants than a run of the mill bigot. We don’t need to hear their excuses, we just want them gone.

Him and the others who’s bad behavior has come to light really seem to show a code of conduct in this police department that seems unacceptable. I’m sure this isn’t isolated in that area of the country. There seems to be a major need for change. No wonder there has been so much protesting.

I have a feeling that the militarization of our police departments is going to backfire on the republicans and get a lot of democrats fired up and to the polls. Voting is better than protesting and a lot safer. I hope to see a record turn-out this fall for a mid-term election. It would be nice to surprise the GOP with a thanks but no thanks, see ya later election.

there’s a riot. cars tipped over and set on fire, breaking
