Limbaugh Stands Up For White Parents

Posted by | August 18, 2014 19:05 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics Top Stories

At a time of crisis, when we have had a series of young black men killed by authorities, Rush Limbaugh feels it’s important to stand up for white folks.

Limbaugh made the comment in response to Georgetown professor Michael Eric Dyson, who said the previous day that black parents face unique concerns about the wellbeing of their children.

“I don’t think it is accurate to say that white parents do not worry sending their kids out of the house on errands,” Limbaugh said. He said the fear of children falling victim to rapists and other criminals is always on parents’ minds, regardless of race.

“Now, if a kid’s gone for 30 minutes– ‘Uh-oh, where’s Little Johnny? Oh my God!’ Am I right?” Limbaugh said. “All kinds of people are afraid to let their kids loose, for fear of what’s out there. Not specifically racial problems, just, there’s a lot of evil out there.”

Totally missing the point that black parents have unique concerns at a time of great prejudice against black children, it’s so good to know there is a spokesperson for white America.

And these right wingers wonder why most African Americans vote for Democrats: they listen and are empathetic.

    • jasperjava August 18th, 2014 at 19:23

I don’t know if Democrats listen all that well either, but at least they’re not actively hostile against African-Americans the way Republicans are.

      • NW10 August 18th, 2014 at 19:27

Key word is empathetic. Republicans blame African Americans for a lot of the problems that they face, whereas Democrats actually want to at least address and attempt to fix said problems.

        • jasperjava August 18th, 2014 at 22:51

Adding, of course, that Democrats allow African-Americans a seat at the table, because African-Americans ARE Democrats. “We” don’t listen to “them”. “They” ARE “us”. We have bench strength in that community, while RepubliKKKans have to resort to tokenism.

Republicans have to walk on eggshells on race, because they can’t afford to lose their white supremacist core. They have to continually degrade Blacks to please their electoral base.

That’s the essence of what LBJ said.

      • jasperjava August 18th, 2014 at 23:04

        “Until justice is
blind to color, until education is unaware of race, until opportunity is
unconcerned with the color of men’s skins, emancipation will be a
        proclamation but not a fact.”

Wow, just wow! This guy cannot follow the premise of anything if he cannot relate his bigotry to it. He just heard Dyson say “black” parents, and obfuscated Dyson’s complete point on the perception, by asserting that his whiteness is ignored in similar situations. He totally sphincter-terises every topic he discusses!

OT: Police Officer Pushes CNN’s Don Lemon From Sidewalk

    • Pistol-Packing August 18th, 2014 at 19:40

I watched that On CNN. The officer was not pushing Lemon himself, but yet had his arms spread wide and was walking Everybody. He was not being forceful or rude.

      • NW10 August 18th, 2014 at 19:46

Always an excuse for these pigs. Whether it’s threatening Chris Hayes with mace, or threatening to shoot another reporter unless he got “THE F**K OUTTA HERE!!!,” there’s always an excuse. This kind of behavior from authority I’d expect over in North Korea or Russia, but not here in the United States. Wasn’t this s*it fought back in the 60s?

        • Pistol-Packing August 18th, 2014 at 20:00

Dude… WATCH THE VIDEO !!!!! And by your terminology of referring to an officer as “PIG” tells me nothing else needs to be said after this. Good luck with yourself.

        • Pistol-Packing August 18th, 2014 at 20:07

here, if you are to lazy to look it up for yourself.

I watched the video. It seems clear that the police created the tense situation, interfering in the people’s right to assemble and the freedom of the press.

sure was and now, today, where are the majority of the 60’s revolutionaries? Selling real estate, trading, and mostly retired and wishing the past was back in order to apologize for not carrying through.

within the so called western world where the money and power to control the rest of the planet seems to reside, there is a fear – first planted and watered and fertilized by bush and his niggardly few. The usa seems to be be balanced between fear of mostly nothing and who’ll get the next$. Do any of you remember when a parent could say, “go out and play”. without attaching an electronic umbilical cord to the kid?

Some citizens in Salt Lake City were protesting the killing of a 20 year old white guy in SLC last week earlier today, so Limbaugh can stuff it. Our kids are dying in the streets of America at the hands of the police every week. Dillon Taylor, his brother, and a cousin were in a 7-11 when a police call went out about a guy in the vicinity ‘waving around a gun.’ The three exited the store, police asked them to stop and put their hands up, but Dillon couldn’t hear them because he was listening to music through headphones. When he took the headphones off, he received conflicting orders from the police. One told him to put his hands up, the other told him to get on the ground. His brother said that the conflicting orders confused Dillon. Dillon was trying to pull his pants up to get on the ground when the officer opened fire and killed him where he stood. The officer said s/he thought Dillon was reaching for a gun, but he didn’t have one. It was later revealed that Dillon had an arrest warrant for a burglary, but the officer who shot him wasn’t pursuing him for that reason. This has to stop. Limbaugh doesn’t have kids, so he doesn’t know what parents tell their kids before they leave home, and he can only speculate about the things they fear might happen to their kids.

Great point by Limbaugh. Let’s not forget the real victims in the murders of Trayvon Martin, Jordan Davis, Renisha McBride, and Eric Garner: White people.

After all, it’s White people who have to put up with the burden of listening to the petulant whining of Black people. What, just because unarmed and non-threatening members of your community are regularly gunned down by police means that White people have to listen to all that annoying “racial injustice” crap that undercuts the myth that White people are on top because they’re simply more talented/beautiful/intelligent than everyone else?

Think of the White people! Geez!

Get Limbaugh off the air, he’s regressive and stuck on ignorant. There ought to be a law about misinforming the public and inciting hate and anger and pretending it’s a service of informing the public. Limbaugh is laughing his way to the bank by serving people that want to hear this crap that he says. Why does anyone even bother to report what he says, instead write letters to his sponsors, the FCC and tell them to get rid of the hate shows it has nothing to do with free speech and everything to do with these clowns making money selling snake oil commentary to the uneducated who are clueless.
