Conservative Black Activist Upset That ‘Thugs’ Like Michael Brown Given Benefit Of The Doubt

Jesse Lee Peterson of Brotherhood Organization of a New Destiny went on Steve Malzberg’s radio show to call Michael Brown a “thug” just like Trayvon Martin.

“I’ve said from day one that Michael Brown is a thug,” Peterson declared, using as evidence “the fact that he was running from the cops, period, because good folks do not run from police officers, they follow their instructions.”

“I just think that it’s a shame,” he continued, “that in America today, that criminals are given the benefit of the doubt – especially black criminals because white criminals are not – but black criminals are given the benefit of the doubt and the police officers are the suspects. I don’t know what has happened to my country…

Why are we protecting religious zealots and giving them tax breaks as they fleece Americans with promises of a mythical reality?

The benefit of the doubt is otherwise called, innocent until proven guilty, a most American law and American tradition. Peterson need to learn our American ways before he makes a fool of himself again.

” in America today, that criminals are given the benefit of the doubt –
especially black criminals because white criminals are not”

Having been through the process, I can honestly say that this guy is a fucking idiot.
America is SUPPOSED to give someone arrested the benefit of the doubt, but that doesn’t stop the police from locking you up for at least 30 days, black OR white (Sorry if you can’t afford bail), and about 9 months if you don’t take that super-sweet plea-bargain arrangement your public pretender got for you by saying “Yes, please” when the State’s attorney sent him an e-mail saying “1 day less than the maximum, or I’ll ask the Judge for the maximum!”

Seriously, I sat in jail for 30 days once, and the Public pretender told me that the state had offered 1 year!
I said “Let me talk to Hizzoner.”
Went before the judge, said “HUH?”
Judge said “You’ve already spent more time in jail than anyone ever does for this. Go. Git!”

You wonder, oh you “conservative” UNCLE TOM “Black” activist, why people run from the police?
Why not? You’re life is screwed anyway.
Enjoy that check you get for being so “activist”…I hope the hubcaps on your Benz get stolen every time you park the damned thing.

Have you ever been arrested? I have and from beginning to end I did not resist. I complied fully with the officers commands and didn’t struggle with him in any way. Why didn’t Mr. Brown do the same? Perhaps if he did the whole thing wouldn’t have escalated and he would be alive this very moment. Face it, the narrative that he was a “gentle giant” is false.

      • NW10 August 16th, 2014 at 10:30

Face it, the narrative that he was a “gentle giant” is false.

No one is asserting that, but racist people like you are looking for anyway to justify his being murdered, and being murdered while unarmed and willingly surrendering. He was complying with officers, as all eyewitness accounts indicate, and the only ones saying otherwise are the pigs at the FPD who have no credibility to stand on.

        • BanditBasheert August 16th, 2014 at 13:23

Agree. And we all wonder why people have lost so much respect for the police … not.
They are given lethal weapons and they believe that killing is their RIGHT.
The cop that killed Brown passed judgment and killed him….for walking in the street.

          • Yenta August 16th, 2014 at 13:54

I think that cop became enraged because a Black teenager disrespected him by not jumping to the side the instant the cop told him to. Then said cop grabbed his neck from inside the car. Is that a new technique for arresting a person? And when Brown broke free, that cop was so enraged that he wanted Brown DEAD.

            • R.J. Carter August 16th, 2014 at 13:56

Yeah, that makes sense. I’ve seen the officer’s arms, and they are indeed 7 foot long, so it would be very easy to grab someone by the neck and pull them through the window from a seated position.

      • edmeyer_able August 16th, 2014 at 10:33

Now who’s jumping to conclusions, where is the evidence he was being arrested, and is the punishment from running from an officer who has already shot you once a bullet to center mass while your hands are in the air……When you’re in a hole it’s best to stop digging.

      • NW10 August 16th, 2014 at 10:34

And another point: don’t police officers have tasers? Why the sudden reaction to shoot to kill, as opposed to tasing Brown?

        • BanditBasheert August 16th, 2014 at 13:20

Fear … cops are trained to believe that we all will submit willingly to their aggressive tones – more and more people are realizing that the police are NOT the law, they enforce the law. And film them at every step .. it is legally your right to do.
When Brown turn and ran, the cop shot him.

Yea, sorry, but this man is an idiot. Tell, for example, the kid in Bakersfield who got beaten to death by the cops that “white criminals” are given the “benefit of the doubt.” He wasn’t even a “criminal” & they beat him to death. Jesse Lee Peterson has nothing to say about that.

I realize Mr Peterson thinks he needs to suck up to white folks to get by in this world, but he’s wrong about that, too — despicably so. But yea, Jesse, you just go on lickin’ those boots.

Michael Brown was “protected” all right, if by “protected” you mean “sent to an early grave”.

I guess stealing a box of cigars is a capital crime, with the police acting as judge, jury, and executioner.

    • John Tarter August 16th, 2014 at 10:21

While you are correct that Mr. Brown did not deserve to die for stealing some cigars, the video from that store clearly shows that he is a thug. What do you call someone who manhandled someone half his size?

      • edmeyer_able August 16th, 2014 at 10:23

      • jasperjava August 16th, 2014 at 12:51

The word “thug” is a euphemism for the “N” word. No wonder Wayout/John Tarter uses it.

        • BanditBasheert August 16th, 2014 at 13:15

Agree … such a cute way of phrasing the “N” word without actually having to say it out loud.
          The racists aren’t very clever.

      • sjb1126mn August 16th, 2014 at 13:10

Michael Brown shoved the guy so that he could leave the store. While not commendable behavior, it’s a bit different than viciously beating someone who offers no resistance. That would be thuggery.

      • BanditBasheert August 16th, 2014 at 13:14

being a “thug” is not a reason to be “shot for walking while black”. Fortunately saner heads than you see the police actions as wrong.

      • Yenta August 16th, 2014 at 13:45

In the video I watched, the store clerk put his hands on Mr. Brown FIRST. Why would somebody that size think HE could manhandle somebody twice his size? He should have reported the theft and let the police handle the rest. Mr. Brown should have been charged, investigated, and had a trial. While he was serving time he might have had a chance to mature. Mr. Brown was an adolescent, not a thug.

        thug

        [thuhg]

        Examples

        Word Origin

        noun

        1.

a cruel or vicious ruffian, robber, or murderer.

        2.

(sometimes initial capital letter) one of a former group of professional robbers and murderers in India who strangled their victims.

    • Um Cara August 16th, 2014 at 10:23

Yea, I don’t get it either. This guy isn’t satisfied that this young man was gunned down? What worse thing ‘should’ have happened to the kid for being a ‘thug’?

    • trayvonmartin August 16th, 2014 at 14:41

if you’re stupid enough to use that logic, there’s no hope for you. thugs who commit strong arm robbery then assault police and get shot got what they had coming. Just like trayvon martin got shot JUST BECAUSE HE BOUGHT SKITTLES AND ICED TEA. what a bunch of stupid idiots.

      • Chinese Democracy August 16th, 2014 at 15:12

I have to correct you .. trayvon martin was murdered because he was BLACK and wearing a hoodie. Thats very suspicious behavior .

Thugs who stand there with their hands up and get shot several times are what we call in this country MURDERED.

you are such a bunch of stupid idiot

      • whatthe46 August 16th, 2014 at 19:14

thank you for remembering trayvon. you seem to think that you are dishonoring him by choosing to use his name. what you are doing is not letting his memory go. what you are doing is reminding everyone another child was murdered for nothing other than being blessed with brown skin.

You’re right – we agree .. Tater is a nut.

“criminals are given the benefit of the doubt – especially black criminals because white criminals are not – but black criminals are given the benefit of the doubt”

    Wait…
    *blink blink*
    Whu?

Sorry Mr. Peterson, but that statement negates any other opines you may have.
You have proven, in one sentence fragment, that you are ignorant and untrustworthy as a serious voice in these matters.

“I’ve said from day one that Michael Brown is a thug ni99er,” Peterson
declared, using as evidence “the fact that he was running from the cops,
period, because good folks do not run from police officers, they follow
    their instructions.”

And Rude Pundit sums it up very well:

Let’s be fucking clear about Michael Brown:

It doesn’t matter if he was the biggest drug dealer in the St. Louis metropolitan area.

It doesn’t matter if he was the baddest gangsta in the Ferguson ‘hood.

It doesn’t matter if he was the biggest pimp in the state.

It doesn’t matter if he had committed robberies or purse snatchings.

It doesn’t matter how many gang signs he flashed with his hands.

It doesn’t matter if he said, “Fuck tha police” every chance he got.

It doesn’t matter if he flipped off cops or grabbed his junk while looking at them.

None of that justifies being gunned down by a police officer. None of it.

Of course, Michael Brown wasn’t any of the above.

What does matter is what the cop did and what the cops have done and will do. You can bet that the officer who shot Brown didn’t ask if he was a future college student. He was just another n***er, indistinguishable from the n***ers around him, and that was enough.

I love rude – he always has something relevant to say – and he gets away with it….because it’s true.
NOTHING matters except according to the Ferguson PD, Brown was shot for “being black and walking in the street”.

    • Chinese Democracy August 16th, 2014 at 15:14

Witnesses saw the cop shoot a man standing with his hands up after he had been shot in the back running away

THAT absolutely matters.. you keep forgetting that part

      • whatthe46 August 16th, 2014 at 19:11

its not forgotten. it just doesn’t matter to them. furthermore, i appreciate it when people choose to call themselves “trayvon martin” because it to me suggest, they will forever remember him. and for that i thank them. never forget. never forget.

    To Mr Peterson:
“So you were THERE in Ferguson to witness EVERYTHING when Michael Brown was gunned down? Wow…thanks for the clarification Mr Peterson. On second thought…maybe it’s YOU Mr Peterson who is a thug spewing out a venom of hate not even knowing what REALLY went down because you WEREN’T THERE. May you rot in hell!”
