The Tea Party Takes Another Beating

Posted by | August 6, 2014 09:55 | Filed under: Politics Top Stories

In 2010 the Tea Party swept into the House and, from there, our political discourse and any attempt at compromise took a very bad turn. On Tuesday, Senator Pat Roberts of Kansas held off the Tea Party insurgent Milton Wolf  to defeat what may have been hard-line conservatives’ last chance at knocking off an incumbent Republican senator this year, the New York Times reports.

Wolf, a physician, who touted being a distant relative of President Obama’s, ultimately had more baggage to overcome, including posting X-rays of patients on his Facebook page in which he mocked the patients.

In Mississippi, the sorest loser we’ve witnessed since Allen West was defeated, announced six weeks after he lost the Mississippi Republican Senate runoff, that he will formally challenge the results of the vote. State Sen. Chris McDaniel is demanding that the state GOP’s 52-member central committee vote next week at a public hearing to declare him the winner — while also retaining the option for a legal challenge in public court if that fails, Politico reported.

McDaniel inadvertently displays why America is growing weary of the Tea Party.  Wolf displays the lack of compassion in the Tea Party, while running on a platform of being Obama’s cousin. Since he’s related to Obama, the Muslim from Kenya, shouldn’t his birth certificate and Christian bonafides be vetted as well?

If the tea party white pride movement is being rejected by the so called mainstream of the g.o.p, why they still allowing the tea party to hold sway over the house by refusing to pass anything ? They still move the white nationalist agenda of the tea party movement, because the one thing that unites all right wingers is their hatred of seeing a black man as president.

Together we stand, divided we fall and come 2014 in Nov., we all will fall down and break our crowns and all the Kings ( Reagan, Bush, Nixon’s ) will not be able to put us back together again especially now that our establish and Tea Party nationalist, have declared that Obama and the Democrats are against all White People, Dam, It was bad enough we claimed sole possession of the American People, but now we must save the White People from Themselves….

The reason why Tea Baggers are running the show in the House is because Boehner is a coward and refuses to stand up to them. The Repubs are a fractured party but they all still hate Obama so nothing will get done unless the Dems win both the House and Senate in November. Highly unlikely at this point but one can only hope…

There’s no chance that the Democrats can retake control of the House because of district gerrymandering that ensures a continued GOP majority in the House until the next redistricting that follows the 2020 Census (The redistricting, like the Census itself, is constitutionally mandated to occur every ten years).
The Senate is another story. The Democrats are going to have to fight like hell to keep control of the Senate, but they could get an boost form an unlikely quarter — namely Chris McDaniel, who’s vowed to challenge the results of the GOP runoff with incumbent Sen. Thad Cochran and hasn’t ruled out running as an independent in the November election.

Slowly-but-surely, those who vote GOP are realizing that the TEA Party wing does not have it’s best interests at heart…and are acting accordingly.
I do have a feeling that soon enough, America will stop it’s “date with hate,” and realize that it was all a fever-dream of the worst kind.
And the TEA Party will soon be shown the door…told to “get thee gone” by those in the GOP whom have tired of living in an abusive relationship. They will form their own party–and go the way of almost all third-parties in American Political History.

I may be a dreamer…but we all can dream, now can’t we?

I’ve got a feeling that the voters of Mississippi haven’t heard the last of Chris McDaniel. I would not be surprised if McDaniel runs as an independent or third-party candidate — even if only as a write-in — in the November election, just to spite Sen. Thad Cochran.

I love your Limbaugh logic! “if McDaniel runs as an independent or third-party candidate — ” (The opposite of what Rusty says most always occurs:) “Roberts opponent Chad Taylor can take him down. If…” — mea_mark below http://disq.us/8jkx65

        What’s Rusty still doing here?

Heh heh! There’s nowhere for Rusty to hide. Costa Rica has universal government HC, just like every other top 40 OECD nation except for the USA. And during that same 5 year period Rush’s Redneck Rivera beach keeps dwindling to a mere sliver, as Sea Level continues rising from Global Warming. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fhcflDSUMvc

Please NO! I’m thinking of moving there and I really don’t want that putrid gas bag anywhere near me! What’s Noriega doing these days? Does he have room in his Panama refuge?

I’m no “Dittohead” by any means. On the contrary, Rush Limbaugh is a national disgrace. But Chris McDaniel is the kind of extreme ideologue whom I would not be surprised if he were to keep running as an independent or third-party candidate just to spite Sen. Cochran.

Remember that Sen. Cochran himself branded McDaniel an “extremist” during the campaign leading to the runoff — and for an archconservative Republican to call a fellow Republican an “extremist” is highly unusual, to say the least.

And since the runoff, McDaniel has shown his racist colors, attacking the high turnout of black voters in the runoff — most of whom sat out the primary — who powered Cochran’s victory and is now challenging the results. This in a state where the politics of race, unfortunately, still matters.

Remember that Mississippi has open primaries, in which any registered voter can cast a ballot, regardless of party. Had the GOP primary been closed to all but registered Republicans, there’s a very real chance that McDaniel could have won.
And if McDaniel had won the GOP nomination, what would you say would have been been the chances of deep-red Mississippi electing a Democrat to the Senate in November?

    • mmaynard119 August 9th, 2014 at 21:53

It’s too late for McDaniel to get on the ballot. There would have to be massive write-in campaign for him to get elected.

I hope people will stop donating to the Flea Party and start paying attention to what the real needs of our country are. I would love to see the voters send the message to candidates that we want to hear what you will try to do and why you are qualified instead of bashing their opponents and insulting the President. In other words, maturity from voters and candidates. Yeah I know I am (sob) dreaming.
