Rove: ‘Shame On Republicans And Conservatives’ For Impeachment Talk

Posted by | July 30, 2014 11:48 | Filed under: Politics Top Stories

Karl Rove is letting Republicans have it for helping Democrats and the White House by fueling talk of impeachment.

Referring to Obama as the “cynic in chief,” Rove said on Fox News’s On the Record that Obama is “suggesting a constitutional crisis” in an effort to “fatten the accounts of Democratic fundraising groups.”

White House senior adviser Dan Pfeiffer said last week that Congressional Republicans may take the path to impeach Obama. House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) has denied that he would seek impeachment. GOP House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, however, was less definitive when asked about it on Fox News over the weekend. Rep. Ted Yoho (R-FL) has also threatened impeachment.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee reported raising $1 million on Tuesday, which Chairman Steve Israel called it the “single biggest online fundraising day of the cycle.”

“Shame on those conservatives and Republicans who help him along,” Rove said.

But Rove, you helped make this party of idiocy. Shouldn’t you also share in the shame.

Karl and his GPS donors are crying again. Tuesday’s $1 M is the “single biggest online fundraising day of the cycle.” ‘Crossroads GPS a terrible waste of money’-Donor Donnie Trump on Rove’s $300 M electing 1 senator during Romney’s 2012 landslide.

Ummm, if Rove and Democrats are saying the same thing, is there a planet alignment or cosmic anomaly we aren’t aware of?

Pretty much everybody got a heapin’ helpin’ of shame from Rove, which makes it look all the more unhinged:

Shame on [Obama], shame on those people in his administration who participate with him, and shame on those conservatives and Republicans who help him along.

There sure is! Democrats are finally learning how to turn a disagreement with GOPTPers into an agreement that they can use to their advantage!!! Ha ha. Isn’t it wonderful?

Time for me to make another donation to the DCCC!

Impeach? Sue? …where oh where will they find the time?

    • Obewon July 30th, 2014 at 13:55

After Thursday just 10 legislative days remain for “spending bills” before FY-15 begins on October 1, 2014. I smell another shutdown tantrum.

      • Jeff Allen July 30th, 2014 at 15:13

Oh I hope not, Obama’s last shutdown tantrum was an embarrassment. All the petty placement of traffic cones so that folks couldn’t take pictures of Mt. Rushmore, roping off war memorials so that veterans couldn’t go in, posting security so that tourists couldn’t catch Old Faithful. Paying for all the childish added security to keep Americans from enjoying free landmarks must have made the political stunts a loss budget-wise. You could be right Obe, but Obama ought to think twice before going down that road again.

        • arc99 July 30th, 2014 at 16:15

are you Obama-haters really so possessed that you actually think the President sat in the Oval Office mapping out where to put traffic cones? Seriously?

It was a GOP tantrum that shut down the government and true to form, when it becomes apparent that a GOP objective is not popular, you guys refuse to accept responsibility for your own goal.

And naturally, the hypocrisy of condemning this President for the exact same things which were non-issues for his predecessors, continues unabated.

The story line about President Obama intentionally trying to make the shutdown more painful that it had to be is a lie, pure and simple.

          http://www.newrepublic.com/article/115210/government-shutdown-2013-house-debates-nps-park-closures

The right’s main piece of ammunition has been the claim that open-air monuments and memorials remained open during the 1995-6 shutdown, so their closure this time around must be an intentional twist of the knife. But Denis Galvin, a former deputy director of the NPS, set the record straight. “Lincoln and Jefferson were barricaded,” he said. “The much discussed World War II Memorial did not exist then, but if it did,” it surely would have been closed off, too. As for the fact that a few parks remain open, Jarvis explained in his testimony that Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell hasworked with some state governors who are willing to fully fund their parks in the interim, and that certain spaces, including the National Mall, are treated differently because access to them is protected under the First Amendment.

          • Jeff Allen July 30th, 2014 at 17:28

I actually don’t care about prior shutdowns, Obewon wasn’t referring to them so neither was I. Obama zombies, like us “Obama haters” can’t see past their own ideological blinders and realize his ineptness. All those things happened for no reasonable use. Did he plan them? no. Did they happen on his watch, yes. If you hold one President responsible for every occurrence no matter how remote during their tenure, then you hold all. The entire shutdown was theatrics on both sides and yet supporters of Obama refuse to allow him to take ANY blame.

            • Vain Freeman July 30th, 2014 at 18:01

What happened, seems that you cared prior to getting smacked in the face with facts?

              • Jeff Allen July 30th, 2014 at 18:40

nothing happened, the only thing I was smacked with was a rambling drivel of statistics that do nothing to disprove that both sides, Republicans and Democrats are culpable for the shutdown and the theatrics that followed. Getting the left to own anything is next to impossible.

Angus King (I-Me) & Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt).

So you’re trying to tell us you support both of these indy Senators? -Of course you don’t. Jeff Allen bags tea for his Koch Oil Astroturf overlords.

Jeff Allen never has anything positive to say about the Obama Admin e. g. 1. Reversing the 12/07-6/09 Great Recession record low everything since (R) Hoover’s Great Depression-taking 10 years to restore GDP to 1929 levels.

              2. The ACA prenatal care lowering U.S. infant mortality from 7 to record low 6.

              3. Lowering the U.S. abortion rate to Clinton’s then lowest year 2000 rates.

I’ve asked these 3 before, but you’ve only wallowed and waffled.

Jeff Allen’s debunked fantasies are from where exactly? Koch Bros & Heritage foundation: Federal Budget Crisis Months in the Planning!-“You are here because now is the single best time we have to defund Obamacare. This is a fight we can win.”Sen. Ted Cruz, speaking in August to a Heritage Action gathering in Dallas”-10/1/13 Cruz was too dim to know the 3/23/10 ACA’s $1.5 T federal deficit reductions were 100% paid for upon signing via “Non discretionary spending”-without congressional oversight:) Only about 10% of ACA HC funding is via “states rights” HC clinics for early disease detection and prevention having congressional oversight. 2) The Koch Bros dictated Tantrum was based on ‘the ACA 1.5% Medicare tax for $200K+ annual net income’ as led by 34 of their groups including:-“Billionaire Koch brothers, Charles and David, have been deeply involved with financing the overall effort. A group linked to the Kochs, Freedom Partners Chamber of Commerce, disbursed more than $200 M last year to nonprofit organizations involved in the fight. Included was $5 M to Generation Opportunity, which created a buzz last month with an Internet advertisement showing a menacing Uncle Sam figure popping up between a woman’s legs during a gynecological exam.”-Via NYT, et al. http://www.nytimes.com/2013/10/06/us/a-federal-budget-crisis-months-in-the-planning.html?pagewanted=all
