I think most of these wingers crowding the border with their bigotry ignore the parts of scripture they worship. Or they are only religious when these kids are not within their vicinity.

Actually Tommy, that is a very short sighted response. The fact that we have been screaming about illegal immigration for the last 30 years and nothing gets done. It becomes a matter of pentup frustration and anger. And now we have this humanitarian crisis due to several factors, some of our own doing. And basically you get a powder keg of emotions.

But for Petes sake, lets call it what it is. They are not “Undocumented”. They are Illegal. If you want to make the case for refugee status, aim willing to listen and discuss the merits.

Further, the people decrying it are doing so on the basis of the impact this influx has on the state, and are then being denigrated because they’re not action according to a religion. I guess we only separate those two when it’s convenient.

Actually, these kids can be classified as refugees and the law allows them to be here, one that was enacted back in 2008. Let’s not make this just the issue of immigration with this current crisis, because it mostly isn’t about that.

Technically the 2008 law is a revision of the 2002 law that was spurred by a 1997 lawsuit. But regardless…

And that makes your previous point valid?

My previous point being, that if we had controlled the flow of “Illegal” immigration for the last 30 years. People would be more open to being sympathetic. But when you have news organizations and politicians and others calling these people as “Undocumented” is a problem. You have a tremendous amount of anger against our government because they have allowed it to keep happening.

Why do liberals go nutty when a conservative politician mentions God in the context of how our government should handle a situation but are quiet when a liberal politician plays the “God card”?

    • Annie July 29th, 2014 at 20:47

      Jerry Brown is no conservative

Uhhhh, correct. What is your point in reiterating the obvious?
