John McCain: Botched Execution In Arizona Was ‘Torture’

Posted by | July 25, 2014 06:47 | Filed under: Politics Top Stories

While he is for the death penalty, the Arizona Senator has the good sense to decry an execution gone wrong.

The longtime Republican lawmaker, who experienced years of torture while being held in captivity by the North Vietnamese during the Vietnam War, called the drawn-out lethal injection execution of Joseph Wood on Wednesday “terrible.”

“I believe in the death penalty for certain crimes. But that is not an acceptable way of carrying it out. And people who were responsible should be held responsible,” he said in an interview. “The lethal injection needs to be an indeed lethal injection and not the bollocks-upped situation that just prevailed. That’s torture.”

Like a broken clock, John McCain is occasionally right, and this is one of those times.

At this point, I don’t even care if his opinion and mine are the same. If he retired to a yurt in the desert it’d be fine by me.

I don’t know if he’s like a broken clock or just multiple personalities lol

He called that botched execution torture, but he keeps torturing us with his incessant appearances on TV news talk shows.

Given that the victim slept through the whole thing, I guess he means it was torture for those who had to watch when they thought they’d have been out of there an hour ago.

The only torture that occurred was that of the people he murdered. Typical though to criticize the way a murderer died than to acknowledge the victimes of the crime he committed for which he was killed.
