Creationist Ken Ham: Stop Funding NASA Because Aliens are Going to Hell

Young Earth creationist Ken Ham has a new cause: cutting off funding for NASA.

I’m shocked at the countless hundreds of millions of dollars that have been spent over the years in the desperate and fruitless search for extraterrestrial life. Even Bill Nye “the Science Guy,” in our recent debate, happily gloated about tax dollars being spent toward this effort. And now, secular scientists are at it again….

And I do believe there can’t be other intelligent beings in outer space because of the meaning of the gospel. You see, the Bible makes it clear that Adam’s sin affected the whole universe. This means that any aliens would also be affected by Adam’s sin, but because they are not Adam’s descendants, they can’t have salvation. One day, the whole universe will be judged by fire, and there will be a new heavens and earth. God’s Son stepped into history to beJesus Christ, the “Godman,” to be our relative, and to be the perfect sacrifice for sin—the Savior of mankind.

Ham is the founder of Kentucky’s Creation Museum which is known for it’s advocacy of a 6,000 year old Earth and depictions of dinosaurs and humans living side by side. He made headlines early this year after a debate with Bill Nye the Science Guy which some of his supporters called a victory or a draw but was mostly seen as an embarrassment by evangelical community leaders such as Pat Robertson who debunks Ham in this video.

So there may be billions of other races out there that are intelligent, sentient beings who have no hope for salvation. Because God created them to burn in hell.

Ham, you’re not only an idiot, but a specious specieist.

Thank you RJ, very well said.

Not biblical either. Much of the bible self contradicts itself. Proven wrong many times over, and the ‘laws’ for living are impossible for anyone to follow.

NASA/NOAA satellites map weather helping us prevent deaths from biblical proportion famines, floods, droughts, hurricanes and allow us to map the universe proving it’s actual age! http://map.gsfc.nasa.gov/

Ham loves taxpayers funding his bankrupt KY Creation Museum touting an impossible 6,000 year old birth of our 4.51 B year old Earth and our 13.8 B year old Universe.
NASA unveils its futuristic “Alcubierre” warp drive starship – called Enterprise. Engage! http://www.extremetech.com/extreme/184143-nasa-unveils-its-futuristic-warp-drive-starship-called-enterprise-of-course

Is he babbling again? Everything he does, he does to make MONEY. That’s ALL he is interested in. Taking gullible low information fundies and scaring them into sending him the Almighty Dollar.
And it actually doesn’t matter what he thinks.
The truth is still the truth – and the river will always be de Nile.

to be critiqued by pat is especially insulting but being an absolute idiot without a shred of anything this ham jerk probably doesn’t even notice and if he does doesn’t get it.

NASA has benefitted us with spin-offs – tech devised for NASA and repurposed for civilian use. Like LEDs, Infared ear thermometers, improvements in artificial limbs, anti-icing systems, improvements in video enhancing and analysis, current fire-fighter gear, temper foam, enriched baby food, freeze-drying, most of our cordless tools came from NASA tech, scratch-resistant lenses, etc.

The Creationist Museum hasn’t benefitted anybody (except maybe those who believe Jesus rode a dinosaur.)

way too many dark holes in young earthers (by their very own reasoning) for their lop sided beliefs to be credible.
    example:
incest was permissible at the beginning because the laws had not yet been given?
yet – the earth was destroyed by flood BEFORE the laws had been given.
Sodom and Gomorrah (twin cities whose inhabitants wore mixed fibers) were destroyed by big azz balls of fire BEFORE the laws had been given.
seems to me that this obvious young cult has a thing for their siblings – and as Republicans so often do, speak before their brain cell has a chance to formulate a standard assumption.
