Steven Seagal Kicked Out Of Music Festival Over Bromance With Putin

Posted by | July 21, 2014 15:45 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics Top Stories

Just this past April, actor Steven Seagal lavishly praised Vladimir Putin and eventook it a step further and said he’d like to live in Russia. That bromance isn’t looking too good right now since many believe Putin has blood all over his hands claws. Many see rebels and Russian seperatists as responsible for downing Malaysian Airlines flight 17 passenger jet and killing all 298 aboard.

Mediate reports:

Seagal, who is apparently judo buddies with the Russian leader, told the Rossiskaya Gazeta that Putin is “one of the great living world leaders” and that he “would like to consider him as a brother.” At some point, he thinks he might move to Russia and become a citizen, just so he can be riiiiiiight next door to Putin.

The Guardian reports:

This was too much for the organisers of Augustibluus, who – after the downing of Malaysian Airlines flight mH17– announced Seagal would be dropped from their lineup.

“We hoped the Estonian public would first and foremost see Steven Seagal as an actor and a musician. It turns out what they saw was rather a politician and a henchman,” festival director Indrek Ditman said in a press release. “To many in Estonia, it came as a major surprise that the action movie hero is a blues musician. Likewise, the organisers and numerous others were unpleasantly surprised by his political views and public statements.”

A lot of women go through the stage of being attracted to “bad boys.” I sure did but none of my past problematic boyfriends covered up a terroristic crime such as taking down a commercial airline full of passengers or invaded the neighbors next door. Still yet, Seagal should move there to at least rid our beautiful country of another dunderhead. And he’ll be near Putin. It’s a win-win kind of thing. They do look rather cute together.

    I never have liked Segal.
I also don’t care for politicizing music. Segal a “henchman” is more than a stretch. More like useful idiot.
I don’t want my music politicized and I don’t want my sports politicized.

All the Best Music is politicized. But too many people think of music as auditory lifestyle wallpaper and not something to be contemplated. Frank Zappa was right. The “Love” topic’s covered. Over-covered. Sickeningly over-covered, in fact.

He’s a better blues singer than he is actor, but that’s not saying much. Russia can have him.
