Robert Reich On ‘The Haters’

Former Secretary of Labor Robert Reich believes the dividing line in America today is between the big-hearted and the haters.

The real dividing line in America today isn’t between conservatives and liberals or between Democrats and Republicans. It’s between the haters and the big-hearted. The haters direct their venom not just at child refugees seeking asylum from the drug war we created, but also at gays who want to marry, African-Americans who want to vote and exercise their other rights of citizenship, women who seek abortions, or even women in general, Latinos who want their children to be taught in Spanish, immigrants in general, Muslims, Jews, government “bureaucrats,” the poor and needy, anyone who dares suggest a required background check before buying guns, people they call “liberals” or “socialists” or “communists,” even the President of the United States. The haters are enflamed by hate-mongers in the media who blame the nation’s troubles on “them.” The haters are loud and angry; they yell and wave their signs before the cameras. But the haters are not America. They are a small and vocal minority. Most Americans are generous and welcoming, decent and kind-hearted. We are the silent majority, who have been silent too long.

So what we need is some very loud inflamed rhetoric about peace, love, understanding and general compassion toward fellow humans. I think I see a little problem here …

You can get your daily dose by watching Bill O’reilly.

You are not on the right paradigm. You are on the non-challenging group-speak paradigm you’ve heard, but there is a group within your party that have betrayed the rest of us. Senator Reid’s bizarre behavior is designed to prevent it from ever coming to light.

I am with Reisch on most of this stuff but I take exception to being calling hateful because I oppose elective abortion. I oppose the abortion and the Death Penalty on the same grounds. Humans taking human life is wrong.

A woman terminating her pregnancy is nothing at all like capital punishment.

Anybody sane throughout the entire Earth wonders how top global economy U.S. xenophobic haters falsely attempt to rationalize their greedy cheap actions against everything humane. American’s are very fortunate to create and spend a record $16 trillion annually via 25% of annual global $66 T GDP.

As LL’s Alan pointed out recently cons coveting greed against the poor was an invention of Reaganomics and wasn’t ever an enviable virtue.
