WSJ: Those Calling For Impeachment Are Loudmouths Feeling Neglected

Sarah Palin and other, more obscure and needy pundits screaming for the impeachment of Barack Obama are likely looking to score some ink because of feelings of neglect, opines the Wall Street Journal‘s editorial, “The Impeachment Delusion.”

“The most extreme voices on either side broadcast the most outrageous statements of the other side as a way to define their opposition and attract attention to themselves. This is the way to understand the flurry of fever-swamp chatter about impeaching President Obama.”

“Sarah Palin joined the impeachment calls on Tuesday, which could mean that the former Alaska Governor has been feeling neglected. She is following the talk radio hosts and obscure authors who are trying to increase audience share or sell books by posing as Mr. Obama’s loudest opponents. “

As a (fake) psychiatrist, I agree. Abandonment issues and rejection can make people act out like children stomping their feet.

Most Republican politicos realize that their chest-thumping and fist-pounding about suing and/or impeaching Obama is little more than election-year political theatrics.

However, there are some spotlight-seeking pundits and political wannabes who lack the intellectual insight necessary to understand that there is no legal foundation for a lawsuit and no rational justification for an impeachment, nor do they have any clue about what these processes actual entail.

But hey, it makes for a great sound bite, so it’s all good.

I suspect you are right but I fear you are not.

      They impeached Clinton, afterall.

      • Esteban Rey July 10th, 2014 at 11:56

I want them to impeach. Do it right before the election. They don’t dare to do it though.

Me too – it will absolutely finally destroy then numbnuts that are trying to run the party into the ground by spending all of their time focused on The Stupid and women’s parts.

      • BanditBasheert July 10th, 2014 at 12:25

And then what happened to them?

    • BanditBasheert July 10th, 2014 at 12:25

It isn’t political insight that Palin lacks, it’s functioning neurons in her brain (if she has one). The only soundbite it makes for requires actually reading what she wrong, diagramming the sentence and trying to figure out WTF she was trying to say before her mouth went off the rails again.
Also too .. she wants money more than anything.

Republicans are a lot like show-biz
Their efforts have nothing to do with reality

The WSJ has become Murdoch’s outlet to smack his performers when they stray too far from his script.

Barack Hussein Obama is the reason impeachment exists. He is the enemy, either you’re with us or against us. Bowe Bergdahl is a traitor, friends w the Taliban & so is Obama. And rolling out the welcome mat for 35 million illegal aliens should be the last straw. Even Hillary said “send them back.”

More than half of the country has heard enough from Sarah Palin.

An NBC News/Wall Street Journal/Annenberg Public Policy Center of the University of Pennsylvania poll released Wednesday showed that 54 percent of registered voters surveyed would prefer that the former vice presidential nominee be less outspoken about politics.

It’s not just Democrats clamoring for her to take more of a back seat — four in 10 Republicans agreed with two-thirds of Democrats and a majority of independents, according to an NBC release.

But Palin doesn’t look like she’ll be quiet anytime soon. The poll comes the day after the former Alaskan governor called for the impeachment of President Barack Obama in a fiery column for conservative website Breitbart News and mocked Speaker of the House John Boehner’s impending lawsuit against the president.

I understand there are some Congressmen who are aggressively pushing for impeachment proceedings. These Congressmen realize that Congress has not tackled any of the substantial issues facing the country, such as employment benefits, health care, immigration reform or tax reform, and if they don’t attempt to impeach the President, the only items that will appear on Congress’ list of accomplishments for this session will be the renaming of post offices.
