Moms Group: Open Carry Texas Exhibits Poor Decision Making Skills

Alan Colmes spoke with Kellye Burke, President of the Texas Chapter of Moms Demand Action on Thursday after the group’s victory with Target’s statement asking gun nuts not to carry weapons into their family-stores.

Alan previously interviewed C.J. Grisham, the leader of Open Carry Texas. The Fox Radio host asked Kellye if she’d be interested in the two of them being interviewed together, and she explained that it would be pointless.

“When you see a picture of a guy with a loaded AK-47 in a toy aisle at Target, it makes really weak gun laws really real,” she said.

Kellye went on to explain how lax the gun laws are now, and gun rights activists are choosing the path which requires no training or background checks.

At around the 5.20 mark Kellye explains that there is a difference between a gun owner and a responsible gun owner.

On Open Carry Texas, she said, “That organization specifically has some poor decision making skills.” She added, ‘Their response to gun violence in America is to stage walks and protests with long guns in retail establishments.”

“It’s not about the weapons,” she added, “I don’t know who they are.” Burke said these groups have “exhibited low impulse control.”

Kelllye said, “Mr. Grisham was invited along with the Texas  Rifle Association lobbyists” to give “expert” testimony on gun laws. “These are the people who our legislators have been relying on for expert testimony,” she said.

It is no surprise the Open Carry gun fetishists (I like that) have poor decision making skills. You only need to look at them.

Anyone that objects to proper weapons training and background checks do not operate with both oars in the water and should not be allowed to own let alone carry in public any weapon.

We must now assume that they are bad guys with guns and react appropriately.

She makes an incredibly valid point. Those choosing to open carry in stores like Target do exhibit poor decision-making skills. Their goal and they should automatically be considered suspect.

And the poor decision skills used by Target should definitely come into question. There is no way to validate any training of these guys who are demanding to carry guns into an establishment where children are located? We don’t even need to have a background check for these people to carry these deadly weapons around publicly? Who does this make sense too? And what type of business sees this as a profitable policy?
