Moms Group Told To Leave, Target Calls Them A ‘Distraction,’ Gun Toting Protesters Allowed

A San Antonio based Target store told protesters who were trying to bring awareness to the company’s national policy regarding the allowance of armed weapons into their stores, to leave. In contrast, Open Carry groups in Texas have been bringing long rifles into and outside their family-friendly establishments in protest of gun laws which are already lax in that state.

Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense said they were asked to leave the premises of the Target at Loop 410 and Blanco Road after being told Target provides a distraction-free shopping experience, whereas, Open Carry Groups have held protests in and outside of Target stores.

Sandy Phillips lost her daughter Jessica Gawhi in the Colorado theater shooting and was surprised that the group was turned away.

“It’s odd to me that as a mother, I’m not allowed to protest at a Target, but I’m allowed to carry a loaded weapon into Target. That doesn’t make sense to me,” Phillips said.

While nationally Target allows guns in their stores, the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission laws prohibit retailers in Texas that sell alcohol to allow armed weapons into their stores, KSAT reports.

What’s more distracting: A group of Moms, or protesters with military-style long rifles strapped to their backs?

Target is #OffTarget. Boycott their stores with impunity.

Intellectual Dishonesty from a left leaning blog … how … expected.

The reason that the MDA moms were asked to leave was because they were soliciting signatures, blocking entrances and harassing customers. In other words, breaking store policy.

The reason that the OCT people were not asked to leave is because they were … shopping.

I know it’s a tough concept to understand, but give it a try sometimes, it may just open your eyes.

I find having to fear for my life around weapon-toting people who may or may not have murderous intent to be distracting while shopping. I won’t do it. I’ll spend no money and leave any business in which I see people carrying guns immediately, and I’ll phone the manager later to explain why. I suggest everyone who cares about having a civil, sane society do the same.
