Prosecutors Target “John Doe” WI Gov. Scott Walker

Posted by | June 19, 2014 14:27 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics Top Stories

Oh, my! It looks more and more as if a GOP “Golden Boy” who clearly had his eye on even higher office is just another elected crook.

Prosecutors allege that Gov. Scott Walker was at the center of an effort to illegally coordinate fundraising among conservative groups to help his campaign and those of Republican senators fend off recall elections during 2011 and ’12, according to documents unsealed Thursday.

In the documents, prosecutors lay out what they call a “criminal scheme” to bypass state election laws by Walker, his campaign and two top deputies — R.J. Johnson and Deborah Jordahl.

The governor and his close confidants helped raise money and control spending through 12 conservative groups during the recall elections, according to the prosecutors’ filings.

The documents include an email in which Walker tells Karl Rove, former top adviser to President George W. Bush, that Johnson would lead the coordination campaign. Johnson is also chief adviser to Wisconsin Club for Growth, a conservative group active in the recall elections.

“Bottom-line: R.J. helps keep in place a team that is wildly successful in Wisconsin. We are running 9 recall elections and it will be like 9 congressional markets in every market in the state (and Twin Cities),” Walker wrote to Rove on May 4, 2011.

A federal judge unsealed the court documents Thursday as part of a lawsuit attempting to halt the secret investigation into the so-called John Doe probe into the recall elections.

Maybe all that Koch brothers money can buy Walker a top-flight criminal defense attorney. it looks as if he needs it.

All paid the price except Eric Holder, who’s major ethics violations are fantasy.

        But you mean like;

Feb 2011 – Congressional investigators allege Rep. Howard “Buck” McKeon received a preferential loan not available to ordinary borrowers.

Mar 2011 – Rep. Scott Tipton may have violated House Ethics rules three times as a freshman Member of Congress.

Apr 2011 – Reports indicate that the FBI may be investigating Rep. Gary Miller for tax evasion.

May 2011 – Rep. Frank Guinta “forgot” to disclose a “mystery” bank account worth as much as $500,000.

June 2011 – Rep. Charlie Bass may have improperly used his office to promote a tax rebate program that would have benefited a family member’s company.

July 2011 – Rep. Stephen Fincher violated campaign finance law.

Aug 2011 – The New York Times took Rep. Darrell Issa to task for using his public office for personal gain.

Sep 2011 – Rep. Joe Walsh may owe more than $100,000 in child support payments to his ex-wife and three children.

Oct 2011 – Rep. David Rivera is under simultaneous state and federal investigations for his involvement promoting slot machines and a contract awarded to a company controlled by his mother.

Nov 2011 – Karl Rove’s protégé, Rep. Tim Griffin, led an effort to suppress African American voter turnout and was intimately involved in the firings of nonpartisan U.S. attorneys for nefarious political reasons.

Dec 2011 – Rep. Pete Sessions may be under a House Ethics Committee investigation for receiving a preferential loan not available to ordinary borrowers.

Jan 2012 – House Republican fundraising chief, Rep. Vern Buchanan, is under multiple ethics investigations for what has been termed an “extensive and ongoing scheme” to reimburse his employees for contributing to Buchanan’s congressional campaign.

Feb 2012 – The FBI is potentially investigating Rep. Michael Grimm for extorting as much as $500,000 worth of campaign contributions from a rabbi and his followers.

Mar 2012 – Rep. Mary Bono Mack and her husband are being investigated for potentially cheating on their taxes.

Apr 2012 – A Florida Republican seeking to unseat Republican Congressman Cliff Stearns claimed that the FBI was investigating Stearns for allegedly attempting to bribe him out of the primary.May 2012 – Rep. David Rivera remains under IRS and FBI investigation for potential campaign finance violations and tax evasion. Recently, a state criminal investigation found that Rivera likely violated the law, but was spared prosecution because of legal ambiguities and excessively stringent statute of limitation requirements.

June 2012 – The New Republic recently revealed that the FBI is investigating Rep. Jim Renacci’s fundraising operations. The FBI investigation concerns $110,250 in questionable political donations the Ohio Republican received from employees of Suarez Corporation Industries and their spouses.

July 2012 – Rep. Vern Buchanan’s legal and ethics troubles grow as allegations and investigations into his potential misconduct intensify. The FBI, the IRS, the House Ethics Committee and a federal Grand Jury continue to investigate Rep. Buchanan for his alleged role in a scheme to funnel corporate money into his campaign coffers, tax avoidance, and witness tampering.

Aug 2012 – From benefitting from government-contracted laborers’ work on her political campaign to helping her political cronies get cushy jobs and government contracts, Brooks claims to know nothing. But New York voters should be asking Maggie Brooks how, as County Executive, she didn’t know about or couldn’t control her own administration.

Sep 2012 – Many might know Republican congressional candidate Danny Tarkanian for claiming his African American opponent was pretending to be black, or his strategy to appeal to the African American community by highlighting his ties to local basketball programs, but Tarkanian’s career has also been punctuated by fiscal irresponsibility and putting his political interests ahead of his obligations.

Collusion between different political groups is illegal and Scott Walker appears to be involved. The evidence seems to be pretty clear. It is time for the courts to take over, hopefully federal courts, where Walkers corrupt influence is minimized.

First of all, the characterization of the activity as criminal come from reports in the local media.

More importantly, the court documents filed with the Circuit Court in Wisconsin, specifically cite the suspected activity as criminal.

You right wing gangs are pissed that your bullsh*t fantasies are contradicted by the facts.

        • arc99 June 19th, 2014 at 20:20

I did not state anything other than to point out the original author of the article, refer you to the official documents filed in the Wisconsin Circuit Court, and dish out the same kind of trash talk you right wingers dispense so freely.

If facts do not agree with your delusions, it is not my problem and the official record of the Wisconsin Circuit Court is definitely not hearsay.

      • firespirit3 June 28th, 2014 at 18:55

Psst sorry it was thrown out by the judge stating there was no criminal activity due to the fact there is no law against collaboration in Wisconsin, not to mention Prosecuter Randall Crocker ADMITTED Walker was never a target of the probe or inicted or named BAHAHAHA!!!

    • BanditBasheert June 19th, 2014 at 16:51

Like everyone else, I am perfectly willing to wait until Little Scotty is tried, found guilty and perp walked. There is a reason they are conducting a criminal investigation.
Let’s see what happens from here on out. There is no question in my mind that once again Karl Rove has his fingers in someone else’s pie and they will go down for it. The man is an idiot – he constantly screws up but the greed pols like Walker eat everything he feeds them.
      Bye Scotty!

      • firespirit3 June 28th, 2014 at 18:52

BAHAHAHA!! He was never a target Bahaha!!!!

    • Jesse June 20th, 2014 at 01:30

Actually it does. “The governor and his close confidants helped raise money and control spending through 12 conservative groups.” Campaign finance laws clearly state that you can’t control spending of groups that aren’t your campaign. Just because you are so ill informed and ignorant that don’t know that’s not legal doesn’t mean it’s not a crime.

Of course, the article presents no actual evidence that “The governor and his close confidants helped raise money and control spending through 12 conservative groups” outside of the one quoted email. But that is for a jury to decide, not someone who is so ill informed and ignorant that don’t know that’s not legal.

      • George Armstrong June 20th, 2014 at 02:31

And yet a state and federal judge have both ruled that no laws were broken. Hmmm?

        • Jesse June 20th, 2014 at 12:33

          a) ACTUALLY no federal judge ever ruled that no laws were broken. ACTUALLY the federal judge ordered a stop to the investigation based on questionable methods. ACTUALLY that judges stay is being reviewed by the Circuit Court right now who were the ones who released the information and evidence.

How did such a “high information” person like you miss the salient details of basic federal court proceedings. Surely you aren’t such a knuckle-dragging toothless illiterate that get orders of stay and decisions of fact confused are you?

          b) Once again I was pointing out that the original poster was incorrect about the ARTICLE when the illiterate said “No where [sic] does it discuss his ‘criminal’ actions.” When in fact, the article did make direct discussion of the alleged criminal actions. To quote the article for the THIRD time, “The governor and his close confidants helped raise money and control spending through 12 conservative groups.”

How did such a “high information” person like you miss the basic details of the article written in basic English and quoted TWICE more in a comment that you were responding to. Are you too lazy to read BASIC ENGLISH? Or, are you just such a knuckle-dragging toothless illiterate that you don’t understand BASIC ENGLISH?

          • firespirit3 June 28th, 2014 at 18:49

Nope u r 100% wrong Walker was never indictedor the target of the probe,

Randall Crocker, an attorney for the special prosecutor, that when the probe was halted, the Republican governor had neither
been served with a subpoena, nor was he among the targeted individuals.
The probe was stopped by a federal judge,

At the time the investigation was halted, Gov. Walker was not a target
of the investigation. At no time has he been served with a subpoena.”

He further added, “It is wrong for any person to point to this sentence
in a legal argument as a finding by the special prosecutor that Governor
Walker has engaged in a criminal scheme. lt is not such a finding.”

Crocker released his statement after the governor was named in a court
document written by Special Prosecutor Francis Schmitz that was made
            public last week.

Are you blatantly lying or too stupid to read English, TOOTHLESS ILLITERATE HICK!!!

      • firespirit3 June 27th, 2014 at 00:53

Sorry DOOFUS..the prosecuter anounced today WALKER was never the target of the investigation at all!! not to mention there were noilaws against coordination libtard!!!

        • Jesse June 27th, 2014 at 12:02

Sorry TOOTHLESS ILLITERATE HICK… I was discussing the words in the article. The original comment was that the article didn’t discuss “criminal” activity. I showed that it did say what he was being implicated in (not what he actually did, which is up to a jury to decide).

Also, TOOTHLESS ILLITERATE HICK… If you knew this 8 days ago why didn’t you comment then? Why did you wait until everyone else knew that?

Also, TOOTHLESS ILLITERATE HICK… what is “noilaws”? Oh, I’m sorry, you meant “no laws,” sorry I don’t speak TOOTHLESS ILLITERATE HICK.

Are you too stupid to read US laws? Or are you intentionally lying about US Code Title II Sections 431? It does clearly state that you cannot coordinate soft money with candidates. I can only assume that Governor Walker stayed within the word of the law here (if not the spirit) and therefore the “criminal” activity – WHICH IS CLEARLY SPELLED OUT IN THE ARTICLE – didn’t happen. Why would you lie about the campaign finance laws?

          Here’s an idea:
          a) read the comments before you call somebody else a DOOFUS;
          b) LEARN ENGLISH before you call somebody else a DOOFUS; and,

          c) Read the law before you run your TOOTHLESS ILLITERATE HICK mouth about what the law says.

Quick question – when you start running your slack toothless yap does the slack-jaw smack you in the nose or are you such a backwoods illiterate that it hits you in the eye too?

          • firespirit3 June 28th, 2014 at 18:46

IT doesnt matter what you say the judge dismissed it on actual legal ground, you have no idea what you are talking about. • firespirit3 June 28th, 2014 at 18:44

Sorry moron there are NO LAWS IN WISCONSIN outlawing the activity , http://www.newsmax.com/Newsfront/walker-criminal-probe-wisconsin/2014/06/26/id/579519/
HE WAS NEVER SUBJECT OF THE PROBE LIL GIRL

Randall Crocker, an attorney for the special prosecutor, told the Wisconsin State Journal
that when the probe was halted, the Republican governor had neither
been served with a subpoena, nor was he among the targeted individuals.
The probe was stopped by a federal judge, whose ruling is under appeal.

A candidate’s campaign conunittee commits a crime when it knowingly

Shhhhh – the Wingers never let facts get in the way of their biggest wet dream … Walker for President.
Does he need to serve a jail sentence before he can run for President?

        • George Armstrong June 20th, 2014 at 02:33

      Bye Scotty!

      • DezzNutz June 19th, 2014 at 19:49

then why in the article did you call him a Crook?

        Nice try hypocrite

        • mea_mark June 19th, 2014 at 21:22

Why do you think BanditBasheert wrote the article? Are you just a denutty troll? Facts are important. Incorrect assumptions are not.

Nope u r 100% wrong Walker was never indicted or the target of the probe,

Randall Crocker, an attorney for the special prosecutor, stated that when the probe was halted, the Republican governor had neither been served with a subpoena, nor was he among the targeted individuals. The probe was stopped by a federal judge,
At the time the investigation was halted, Gov. Walker was not a target of the investigation. At no time has he been served with a subpoena.”He further added, “It is wrong for any person to point to this sentence in a legal argument as a finding by the special prosecutor that Governor Walker has engaged in a criminal scheme. lt is not such a finding.”
Crocker released his statement after the governor was named in a court document written by Special Prosecutor Francis Schmitz that was made public last week.

            • Jesse June 28th, 2014 at 22:47

I never said he was indicted you TOOTHLESS ILLITERATE HICK.

          Here’s an idea:
          a) read the comments before you call somebody else a DOOFUS;
          b) LEARN ENGLISH before you call somebody else a DOOFUS; and,

          c) Read the law before you run your TOOTHLESS ILLITERATE HICK mouth about what the law says.

Quick question – when you start running your slack toothless yap does the slack-jaw smack you in the nose or are you such a backwoods illiterate that it hits you in the eye too?
