Republican Strategists Organizing Media Trashing Of Bowe Bergdahl

Richard Grenell, a former Mitt Romney aide, who also worked for former UN Ambassador John Bolton, is serving up interviews to the media by those who served with Bowe Bergdahl in an effort to cast him in a negative light.

The New York Times reported that “Republican strategists” had arranged an interview for them with men who served in Afghanistan with Bergdahl, who was released after five years of imprisonment by the Taliban in a controversial prisoner swap deal. In the article, the men express their anger at Bergdahl for leaving the base, causing other soldiers to risk their lives looking for him.

The same soldiers also did interviews with The Weekly Standard, the Daily Mail, the Wall Street Journal, and Fox News.

Cody Full, one of the soldiers quoted in the New York Times and other stories, tweeted yesterday about Grenell: “I want to thank @richardgrenell for helping get our platoon’s story out.” Grenell retweeted the tweet, calling Full a “true American hero.”…

Reached by phone, Grenell’s partner at Capitol Media Partners, Brad Chase, confirmed that the firm had been helping the soldiers get their story out.

“Obviously Ric is a well-known Republican and these guys found him on Twitter and reached out asking for help in getting their story out,” Chase said. “Ric obviously saw that this is something that needed to be told and came to me and others in our firm, and I and some of the others determined that this was a story that we wanted to work on.”

These enlisted men came out pretty quick and were well scripted…does make one wonder.

Fox got them hooked up and on a little too fast.

Surfing FB a few days ago there was one entry I saw over and over posted by different people and they all started with this same line. My friend was in Bergdahl’s unit and … I thought either the fellow who wrote this has a helluva lot of friends or lots of people saw the meme and shared it without bothering to clarify it wasn’t “their” friend who was in Afghanistan. It gave the impression that dozens of different people were telling the same story when in fact it was just an excellent example of mass marketing.

One of the more enlightening threads on this can be found over at thegatewaypundit.com. It is one thing to accuse right wingers of being hypocrites who condemn the President no matter what he does. It is quite another when their own words clearly indicate that the accusation is 100% accurate.

Obama is clearly a selfish *stard, what else can you say.

My guess is that the Obama administration just can’t be bothered. I mean it’s not like this guy is Jay-Z or Kanye.

Just like Benghazi, it never happened. As long as Obama is Emperor, no answers, no comfort, no safety to any of our Military members or their families.

But in the latest iteration of hating the President, no matter what he does, what they were clamoring for a mere 7 months ago, is now an effort to distract from the VA controversy as shown by the latest comments from Obama-haters on this exact same story link.

You’ll notice there is no details on Bergdahl’s “capture” in this article. As the facts have come out…that he willingly gave himself up to the Taliban, the reaction might have been much different. Still, it’s the administration’s spin on this that he served with “honor and distinction” that has many people riled up.
No doubt this was done to get the VA scandal off the front pages….and no doubt Obama had no idea this would blow up in his face!

Looking at this stuff http://theobamadiary.com/ it makes it very easy to question their motivation for speaking out. They look like they are more interested in putting money in their pockets rather than getting the truth out.

The following link is to an opinion piece. I have said on several occasions, and I honestly believe that opinion pieces do not prove anything other than what the author believes.

I happen to agree with the opinions of this author, and he states the case far more eloquently than I ever could, so I thought I would share this article.

Here is his bio, with a brief excerpt and link below

“”I’m a retired US Navy Chief Warrant Officer. Nowadays I live in Alaska where I spend most of my time working in my woodshop or fishing. I occasionally consult for the Military. I have delusions of becoming a full time writer – or conquering the universe, whichever is easier… You can email me, your future ruler, at jim@stonekettle.com, be sure to put “Stonekettle Station” in the subject line or else my moat monster will eat your messenger and make a funny origami hat from his skin.””

Answer me a question, if we can sell arms to terrorists, to our own enemies, then you tell me why we can’t negotiate with those same terrorists for the return of our own people.

If our people aren’t worth it, if they aren’t worth more than the value we place on arm sales and political maneuvering, then you go right on and tell me what all the shouting is about over Benghazi. Go on, I’ll wait.

If our people aren’t worth four or five terrorists sitting in a Gitmo prison cell, then you tell me why we’ve spent the last twelve years in two wars, why we traded the lives of six thousand servicemen and why we killed hundreds of thousands Iraqis and Afghans to avenge three thousand Americans. Go on, tell me why it was okay for the previous administration take a hundred enemy lives for every one of ours, but it’s not acceptable for the current administration to trade five terrorists for the life of one American soldier – especially when we gave six American lives as a down payment looking for him after his disappearance. Why were the Americans who died on 911 any more valuable than Bowe Bergdahl?
