Hillary Clinton Was Skeptical Of Bergdahl Swap

Hillary Clinton had doubts about a prisoner swap for Bowe Bergdahl when it came up in 2011 and 2012, and wanted a tougher deal.

…negotiations, held in in Munich and Doha, fell apart in early 2012. But before they did, Clinton had a framework deal drawn up that was much tougher on the Taliban than what ultimately got done two years later.

Three former administration officials who were involved in the process told The Daily Beast that Clinton was worried about the ability to enforce the deal and disinclined to trust the Taliban or the Haqqani network in Pakistan, which held Bergdahl until this weekend. Clinton was so concerned, the former officials added, that she may not have even signed off if the negotiations had succeeded.

“She was heavily involved from the beginning, she was very skeptical of the arrangement, she was very wary of it,” one former administration official said. “If we had come to some agreement she perhaps would have backed it, but we never got to that point.”

a very sensible line of reasoning from a superbly adequate Secretary of State @ the time and under the circumstances that then prevailed. Definitely well seasoning for Mrs./Ms./Madame POTUS2B. Definitely far more qualification than one whose entire foreign affairs experience is in the exploitation of human misery for personal financial gain or being born in a Foreign Country.

Hilary haters already crapping their pants because they know that none of their annointed right wing messiahs has a snowball’s chance of beating her in 2016, and she has not even announced a candidacy in 2016.

Secretary Clinton’s caution was correct at the time, especially during her oversight of the successful liberation of brutal Big Oil Dictators replaced by democracy in Tunisia, Egypt, Libya & Yemen, etc. http://www.theguardian.com/world/interactive/2011/mar/22/middle-east-protest-interactive-timeline Today’s Afghani War is over 12/31/14 with any untried & unconvicted (non-al-Qaeda) Taliban to be freed in 2015 under international law and the Geneva Conventions. That’l cause the vacuum in con heads to implode with F5 tornado force.
