‘Biggest Dinosaur Ever’ Discovered

The huge remains were found in South America.

Weighing in at 77 tonnes, it was as heavy as 14 African elephants, and seven tonnes heavier than the previous record holder, Argentinosaurus.

Scientists believe it is a new species of titanosaur – an enormous herbivore dating from the Late Cretaceous period.

A local farm worker first stumbled on the remains in the desert near La Flecha, about 250km (135 miles) west of Trelew, Patagonia…

They unearthed the partial skeletons of seven individuals – about 150 bones in total – all in “remarkable condition”.

This is so exciting for us – having spent time with friends in Patagonia, we had the luck to visit their “Dinosaur Museum”. This is in a tiny town – about 12 hours by car south of Buenos Aires … and their museum is absolutely incredible. All around the area are “digs” – they have found some of the richest and most diverse fossils in the Americas in that area.
Argentina supports their archeological digs strongly and they are unearthing amazing finds especially in this particular area.
The US is being left behind .. but the rest of the scientific and archeologic world is moving forward.
Cannot wait to go down and visit friends and see this new find!!!
