Mike Vanderboegh Still Thinks There’s A Good Chance Harry Reid’s ‘Balls’ Will Be ‘Ripped Off’

Posted by | May 8, 2014 09:24 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics Radio Interviews Top Stories

Mike Vanderboegh was on radio Wednesday night declaring that a civil war is likely and that Harry Reid wants violence. Vanerboegh compared Cliven Bundy to Dred Scott, defending his law-breaking. And he doubled down on previous comments that bricks should be thrown through windows of local Democratic offices to “send a message.”

This clown wants to start a civil war. Reid wants to have the law enforced…big difference.

They need to be extra careful what they wish for. They certainly do know their audience though. Red neck idiots can be counted on to take the rock and run with it because some fool tells them to.

of course, if someone who participated in the Occupy protests a few years ago, went on the radio and accused a Republican of trying to start a civil war, we all know how the talk radio/FOX news audience would have responded.

as always, right wingers scream loudest when they are treated the way, they want to treat everyone else.

once upon a time, in a land far far away, a long, long time ago (about 3 years), Republicans and their constituents pretended to support law and order. whether it was two black guys exercising their 2nd amendment rights in front of a polling place, or a liberal movement exercising their first amendment rights, Republicans were oh so concerned about following the law.

now that gun-toting right wing thugs are the criminals, who cares about the law.

here is how one prominent Republican referred to his fellow citizens exercising their first amendment rights back in 2011 before the Sith lords controlling the GOP finally revealed themselves. who knows what he would have said if the Occupy protesters were exercising their second amendment rights too.

Republican House Majority Leader Eric Cantor addresses the Value Voters Summit in Washington, DC, Friday. The Value Voters Summit, sponsored by the Family Research Council, is an annual gathering of the religious right; it provides Republican politicians and presidential candidates an opportunity to display their conservative bona fides.

The second-ranking House Republican castigated “Occupy Wall Street” protesters on Friday, just as Democrats begin cozying up to the weeks-old demonstrations.

House GOP Leader Eric Cantor decried the protests that started several weeks ago in New York, and have spread to major cities across the country. Cantor said in a speech at the Values Voters Summit in Washington that he is “increasingly concerned” about the “growing mobs” represented at the protests.

How is this not incitement to riot? And what is it with these guys and balls? Especially OTHER men’s balls?

    • CzarChasmIII May 8th, 2014 at 22:04

When Mr. Vanderboegh mentioned another man’s balls, it was while relating a metaphor that his salt-of-the-Earth grandfather told him at 10 years old about why he wouldn’t return to the house at Mike’s urging to continue an argument his granddad was having with his grandmother. After encouraging his grandfather to go back because Mike thought he had the “winning” argument, his granddad bent down to Mike’s level and said, paraphrasing, “Son, you don’t poke a wolverine with a sharp stick unless you want your balls ripped off!”

Men are particularly well-suited to understand unstated meanings of a metaphor about balls, either their own or others’, it makes no difference.

I only heard half the interview, so I don’t know if Mike was given a chance to repeat that story or not, but it was an attempt at a warning of the unintended consequences of turning our free republic into a tyrannical, despotic state. Harry Reid called the participants of a peaceful protest that made the BLM back down from firing the first shot of the next civil war “domestic terrorists,” yet what inspired those people to go there were four separate sniper nests trained on the Bundy family, plus another ~200 heavily armed agents who threw Cliven Bundy’s sister to the dirt, tased one of his sons multiple times in quick succession, and assaulted a pregnant woman, all caught on video and disseminated to a shocked public over an unpaid grazing fees bill. The despotism in those acts puts Mike’s warning of unintended consequences in easy-to-understand context of a poke with a sharp stick causing a wolverine to rip somebody’s balls off. The wolverine is not the sister, the son or the pregnant woman, the wolverine is our liberty. If government, whether from the right or the left, keeps poking that stick at our liberties, more than a few balls will be ripped off.

The only reason anyone on a progressive website would have to disagree with Mike Vanderboegh’s metaphor is if you have designs on our liberties. Assuming that isn’t true, then we have no issues. But if it is true, as Bunkerville proved to at least some degree, we are ready, willing, able, armed, prepared and righteously indignant to rip their balls off when our government forgets its place. No one will be immune from the unintended consequences of taking it to the next step. We aren’t your enemies. We are the protectors of liberty. We want you to live any way you choose. The only caveat is that your choices cannot infringe on anyone else’s choices of how to live. Obviously, snipers surrounding American families is a bit more infringement than we’re willing to allow.

I tried to answer your question honestly and politely, but also directly. I hope it enures to some degree of understanding rather than being taken as threatening or angry or dismissive of your concerns. We simply adhere to the law and try to predict it as best we can. The Law of Unintended Consequences is very unpredictable though, so it’s incumbent upon serious people to talk seriously with each other.

To emphasize my earlier point, who wants to bet that the right wing media and politicians will express the same level of outrage over this incident as they did with two black guys standing in front of a polling place in a predominately black neighborhood, exercising their second amendment rights and holding doors open for women.

    I will take that bet.

With anti-government sentiments roiling in the aftermath of Cliven Bundy’s Nevada standoff, government workers in western Utah are stripping BLM logos from their vehicles after two motorists brandished a gun and displayed a threatening sign at a federal wrangler who was driving Tuesday in Juab County.

    • David Wright May 8th, 2014 at 19:19

That would be anti-BIG, UNCONSTITUTIONAL government sentiments. Most folks I know are not against government entirely; only the bloated, constitution-shredding government given us by leftists of BOTH halves of the ruling big government party. That includes BOTH R’s and D’s. The best president we’ve had since Jefferaon was “Silent Cal” Coolidge, back in the 1920s. Under him, the debt was reduced, spending was cut and the (quite real) depression of 1920 died a’borning. Now that’s REAL accomplishment!!!

Since there seems to be pretty strong evidence (I would call it conclusive, but Ballless Hairy Reid’s a progressive liberal democrat) that Ballless Hairy Reid owns over 90 acres in close proximity to Mr. Bundy’s ranch and wants a bigger parcel (Mr. Bundy’s land) to sell to Chinese interests, that would indicate that Ballless Hairy Reid WOULD send violent men to wreak havoc on Mr. Bundy, absent the Oath Keepers and militia men and women currently stationed there.

And the evidence has been presented on numerous websites AND documented. Sipseystreetirregulars.blogspot.com has links to much of it. I know y’all are leftwing rant kings and queens, not much given to the Founders, civility, the Constitution (as the contract which We, the People, entered into with the Several States, which created Fedgov and granted it certain LAID-OUT and LIMITED powers to act on, as an agent of the States and the People), or even simple truths, but perhaps if I try to use small words, even YOU might understand what’s at stake here.

you talk about not being given to civility and you use terms like “ballless” and make condescending statements about small words.

your post is a perfect paradigm of cognitive dissonance.

I will defend my beliefs and opinions in Constitutional terms anytime.

a blog is not an objective source of information. would you accept this blog as an irrefutable source of information? when your “proof” appears in the Wall St Journal, let me know.

      • David Wright May 8th, 2014 at 19:26

I only echo the tone I see in many other posters here and on other “tolerant” leftist sites. In that, I am a mirror of what I see, saving for foul language.

As to blogs, no, but the links and cites are on Sipsey Street, for anyone’s perusal. I also did listen to the entire audio of Alan’s conversation with Mike. So I take his comments with a LARGE grain of salt.

        • arc99 May 8th, 2014 at 19:30

at least at this site, opposing viewpoints are presented. try doing the same thing at a right wing site where you disagree with the views of the publisher, and see how quickly your account is terminated. you likely will not need a calendar to measure the interval. a stopwatch will probably be sufficient.

so before you go putting tolerant in quotation marks, why not take a look at your own side of the political aisle and see what intolerance really looks like, no quotation marks necessary

          http://www.redstate.com/posting-rules/

          13. The dissemination of talking points from the Democrat Party, or its politicians and allies, is not allowed

          • David Wright May 8th, 2014 at 19:35

Redstate is not on my list to visit, never has been. As to tolerance, look at DU and most of the other leftie sites. This is a model of what COULD be, in comparison. Of course when you and your choir use terms like RWNJ and similar derogatory terms, expect that I, at least, will fire back kind for kind. Ya gotta give to get. Cool?

            • arc99 May 8th, 2014 at 19:42

I am not a member of any choir. My point is that regardless of what sites you frequent, I see no reason why this or any other leftist site needs to adhere to a standard that is not only absent from right wing sites, but in some cases written into the rules.

Personally, I give the level of respect that I receive. Having said that, after 5 years of noise about forged birth certificates, secret Muslims, death panels, socialism, child re-education camps and so-called strict constructionists advocating denial of article 6 and first amendment rights to Muslims, I fail to see how anyone who holds those views is not deserving of the label RWNJ.

I respect you and your beliefs to the same extent you respect me and my beliefs.

              • David Wright May 8th, 2014 at 19:59

Your beliefs are what they are. When you try to grow government to IMPLEMENT them, we’ll have some serious issues. MY beliefs treat Americans as grownups and SHRINK government to its Constitutional limits, leaving you to live your beliefs without impacting others who are not so minded.

Stop trying to get government involved in every aspect of other folks’ lives and we’ll have NO problems, OK?

                • BanditBasheert May 8th, 2014 at 20:06

I’ve got no problem with that since the 1st applies to everyone. However, I’ve got to say this is the 1st liberal blog I’ve commented on where my comment wasn’t pending.

You have something positive to say about Pres Obama? Or Bush? Please post it. For me, Dems and Repubs and just different sides of the same coin. It took BOTH of them to saddle us with 17+ trillion in debt and a warfare/welfare state.

Again, It took BOTH of them to saddle us with 17+ trillion in debt, 40+ million on food stamps, our industrial base shipped overseas, and a warfare/welfare state. And they both print money ( QE ). I guess that is where the Dems and Repubs get money, because there are now more people in the wagon riding than there are pulling.

You are very welcome to your views however when you attempt to speak for others, you cross the line and you will get called out. My husband is a veteran and he would think you are a babbling moron.

          • David Wright May 8th, 2014 at 20:50

Of course he would, IF he were a veteran in the mold of John “Swiftboat” Kerry or Al “Climate changer” Gore. If he’s a normal combat vet, let’s say of my era (67-93), then he might just think otherwise. Ask him.

Does he remember his oath? Has he read the document he swore to protect from ALL its enemies? Was he a draftee? I know many of them also eventually took pride in their service, even though during the war they weren’t real happy. It’s entirely possible your husband and I might have more in common than you think.

            • BanditBasheert May 8th, 2014 at 20:52

          • tayronachan May 10th, 2014 at 02:14

I’m not a vet, but don’t think for a second David W. is alone in the way he thinks and feels. I live in small town USA, where most of the vets come from. And the vets I know are not liking the direction the country is going, and how invasive Washington has become in everyday life. 17+ trillion in debt (impossible to pay off), 40+ million on food stamps, real unemployment around 20% (using real, pre ’94 measurements), bailouts for criminals on Wall Street, all the scandals (not just Obama, but Bush too), all the spying, all the hypocrisy, all the foreign intervention, all the “free trade” that is supposed to make us all more prosperous but enriches only a few.
It’s been 80 years since the last big cirsis, and that was the Great Depression/WWII. What will this turning bring? Do TPTB have time to focus the people on an external threat, before they focus on them?

      • David Wright May 8th, 2014 at 19:54

Limbaugh isn’t on my list either. He’s a conceited windbag.

No, my FR post got no PUBLIC takers, but then I wasn’t expecting much there. Many FReepers are big government addicts, like the left. They only differ in what they want to outlaw, or they’d be right here with you.

MY kinda folks don’t advertise very much. We know who we are, because we’ve served together or know a friend of a friend. Public displays are not our big thing. I speak up because I can’t leave your folks thinking they have no real opposition to your dreams of total government.

        Others are waiting silently…

        • BanditBasheert May 8th, 2014 at 19:56

You know, you take a lot for granted. You may be a vet, but you are not the ONLY vet out there … and you do not speak for anyone but yourself.
Go live in the shadows, but you are in for an extremely rude awakening. It is not wise to assume that the Veterans will support your little idiocy. You are out in wackadoodle land .. and you seem to know it.
All you apparently have is name calling.

          • David Wright May 8th, 2014 at 20:06

Of COURSE I’m not the only vet out there. But most of us do take our oaths seriously. And have bothered to READ the Constitution we swore to protect.

Nor do I EVER INITIATE name-calling. I have, however, learned to return fire when fired upon. And I did read the whole comment section, including YOURS before putting fingers to keyboard. As a “mod,’ you’re one of the WORST name-callers here. Why is THAT???

            • BanditBasheert May 8th, 2014 at 20:08

So now you imply that if a veteran disagrees with you, they are NOT taking their oath seriously?

You have some serious issues Mr. Wright … beyond just the usual arrogance people like you employ. Bullies never win – particularly on a blog like this.

      • BanditBasheert May 8th, 2014 at 19:54

Limpballs does kill braincells. He already killed his with his oxycontin drug addiction. I can only assume that he also killed his Ball Cells.

He has no brains, no balls and a big mouth.

Mr. Wright believes he is the only veteran here. He does not speak for my family – and he needs to figure that out. It’s why he has “0” signatures,

    • BanditBasheert May 8th, 2014 at 19:52

      “Constitutional Restorationist”?

Not that you have noticed, but WE are the people too. You are not the only person here with an opinion, however you do like to shoot off your mouth.

Your ideas/plans/thoughts are insane. That tells me you are insane. Therefore I think you need to be filed under Right Wing Troll.
      If the image fits …

      • David Wright May 8th, 2014 at 22:31

Exactly WHAT would be “insane” about cutting fedgov to its Constitutional size and restoring the freedoms ALL of us are guaranteed by it? The Founders fully intended for the Constitution to be a LIMIT ON GOVERNMENTAL AUTHORITY, not a limit on what We, the People, can rightly do.
Which, by the way, includes owning the arms of your choice or ingesting the herbs or whatever of your choice, residing where and with whom you care to, driving/flying the vehicle of your choice whereever your heart desires to go, whenever YOU decide.

NONE of these things are properly the business of ANY level of government, nor is what you do with property YOU own (respecting the fact that your whatevers ENDD at your property line). Your rights are unlimited, subject ONLY to respecting the equal rights of others.

I understand this might seem like crazy talk to some of you, but that’s what FREEDOM is all about. I have a sister who was (and still speaks up for others) a “sex worker” in L.A. I can’t say that I like that, but I fully respect her RIGHT to make her own choices, and I support her, as my sister. I also think that her former profession should be decriminalized soonest, so that those in it can have the protection of the law, instead of hiding from it. Is THAT “crazy talk” to you?

      • M D Reese May 8th, 2014 at 23:50

Constitution restorationist? That’s a new one. But I’ll bet it’s the same old agenda including going back to being 3/5 of a man for African-Americans and of course women will go back to being the property of their fathers until they (of course!) get married, at which time they will become the property of their husbands. Voting will be restricted to white male christian (and only the RIGHT kind of christian) property owners…

    • Chinese Democracy May 9th, 2014 at 16:39

I like your idea of progressive. Anyone to the left of Ghengis Kahn I guess.

Where in the constitution does it say that armed nutballs can confront the Gov because some welfare cowboy doesnt want to pay what he owes?

Is it the 14th amendment :)

“Hairy Reid owns over 90 acres in close proximity to Mr. Bundy’s ranch and wants a bigger parcel (Mr. Bundy’s land) to sell to Chinese interests”,
You of course have some sort of credible proof that you want to share with us right?

  18. David Wright May 8th, 2014 at 19:09

Again, It took BOTH of them to saddle us with 17+ trillion in debt, 40+ million on food stamps, our industrial base shipped overseas, and a warfare/welfare state. And they both print money ( QE ). I guess that is where the Dems and Repubs get money, because there are now more people in the wagon riding than there are pulling.

                    • William May 12th, 2014 at 22:14

Since Ive been posting here Ive seen a thousand comments by t baggers and RWNJs that prove you wrong.

Many posters here thrive on rightie posts . Its a feeding frenzy

        • BanditBasheert May 8th, 2014 at 20:03

You have no idea how wrong you are. But I’ll just leave it at that.

              • David Wright May 8th, 2014 at 20:57

I’ve been mistaken before. You’re not getting a cherry boy here. However, as long as he’s not an incarnation of the late, unlamented John Murtha, I can respect the fact that he had the stones to put it all out there and serve.

          • mea_mark May 8th, 2014 at 21:25

If you want to contribute to the discussion clean it up or be gone, comments like this are not welcome.

    • Obewon May 8th, 2014 at 19:35

You realize nobody believes your “Free Republic” b/s right? Exhibit A: “A VETERANS PETITION FOR REDRESS AND CONSTITUTIONAL RESTORATION author: D.C. Wright USMC Retired target: Congress, the Executive and the Judicial

Signatures: 0! ->we’ve got 0 signatures, help us get to 100,000 by January 22, 2010”-Teabagging Limbaugh kills braincells. http://www.freerepublic.com/tag/by:dcwusmc/index?tab=articles

The only thing u got right so far is that Im a big ole queen

I find it fascinating that RWNJ’s love to fly in and spam their small brains out and then huff away offended when they are called out. Knowing where to take your story is a matter of intelligence. If he doesn’t like the sandbox, he is welcome to return to the pond scum that he apparently idolizes. I am sure his Wingers will love his point of view.

I just went back and looked up that petition. There is NO WAY you can possibly state that there are no signers on it, since it has been CLOSED by The Petition Site and is no longer available. I don’t recall, now, how many veteran signers there were, but I KNOW it was a number quite a bit higher than zero. The FR post showed dozens who said they had.
