Connecticut Republican Senate Candidate McMahon Tries To Ride Obama’s Coattails

Republican Linda McMahan has an ad telling voters she’s also running as an independent, so it’s okay to vote for her and for President Obama. As Joan McCarver notes:

This is from the candidate who supported the Blunt amendment to let employers decide if you could have family planning coverage in your insurance. She signed Grover Norquist’s pledge in her 2010 race. She and her husband have given $150,000 to Restore Our Future, the pro-Romney Super PAC. She thinks hospitals should be able to deny emergency contraception to rape victims. She thinks Social Security should have an expiration date. She wants tax cuts for the wealthy and bare bones domestic spending.

But she wants Connecticut voters, who are likely to give President Obama a 10 or 15 point advantage on election day, to think she’s on board with him. That putting her in the Senate would not be creating just one more vote to block all of his policies in the Senate.

And everyone in the ad is either black, female, or both.
