House Republicans’ Plan For Two-Month Vacation Leaves Important Business Hanging

Of course, Republicans don’t want to do anything until after the election. Never mind that Republicans attacked Nancy Pelosi for a five-week recess four years ago. In the balance:

1. Violence Against Women Act re-authorization.

2. The American Jobs Act.

3. Tax cuts for working families.

4. Veterans Job Corps Act.

5. Sequestration.

6. Farm Bill.

These, in addition to drought assistance, postal service reform, addressing the Estate Tax, cybersecurity legislation, fixes for Medicare reimbursement rates and the Alternative Minimum Tax, and all 12 of the FY 2013 Appropriations Bills remain unaddressed.
