Romney Factually Incorrect With Claim That Obama “Robbed Medicare”

Mitt Romney claimed on “60 Minutes” that the president has “robbed Medicare,” but it is not true. Honest Republicans know that there are no cuts to Medicare in the Affordable Care Act, but rather a slowdown in the rate of growth.

Medicare spending will continue to grow in real dollars. The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office projects Medicare spending will reach $887 billion in 2020, up from $499 billion in actual spending in 2009.
