Senate Passes Tax Cuts On The First $250,000 Of Income

It’s a beauty contest, because revenue-raising bills have to originate in the House, and House Republicans aren’t likely to waive that.  Two Democrats opposed the measure: Joe Lieberman of CT and Jim Webb of VA, both of whom leave the chamber at the end of the year. Now it’s up to House Republicans to act if they wish to avoid full expiration of the Bush tax cuts.
