George Will: Romney “Losing” The Bain Capital Argument

Running as a businessman, says George will, given global financial scandals, is not helping him.

Will admitted he couldn’t understand how Romney didn’t take care of all of these financial issues well before he ran for president this time around. He recalled when Romney was challenging Ted Kennedy for his Massachusetts Senate seat in 1994, he faced similar scrutiny over his financial dealings. Will explained why the optics of Romney’s business background don’t look good in the election.

“The Republicans have now nominated someone from the financial sector at a time when the financial sector is an extremely bad odor. Hardly a day goes by, the LIBOR scandal, TARP… all of this conditions the atmosphere in which this is appearing.”
