Michigan Tea Party Group Burns Copy Of Affordable Care Act

Let’s hope they didn’t burn themselves and require medical attention, especially if they’re uninsured.

Hartland Township-based RetakeOurGov originally planned to burn, then bury remnants of the law. The group opted only to burn a copy of the law after Thursday’s U.S. Supreme Court ruling upholding the law’s requirement that all Americans have health insurance as of 2014.

RetakeOurGov Treasurer Wes Nakagiri last week said his organization decided to go ahead and burn the bill, but that it could no longer declare the bill metaphorically dead.
