The Drop In The Public Workforce

Henry Blodget presents the above chart on federal employees (the small peak in 2010 is for Census takers).  The federal workforce has dropped steadily under President Obama.  Have these workers been made up for on the state and local level?  Blodget also shows the following:

Tea Partiers can talk all they want about government spending but you can cut all the waste, all the foreign aid and pare back the workforce and unless you lower defense spending, raise taxes, and control Medicare, the deficits will remain.
