Republican Indiana Senate nominee Richard Mourdock wants to overturn the 17th Amendment and go back to having state legislatures pick senators.

At a campaign event last February, the Tea Party candidate came out against the Seventeenth Amendment, which ensures that senators will be chosen by elections and not by state legislatures:
