Romney To Release Tax Returns. “We Made A Mistake”

Mitt Romney told Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday, “We made a mistake holding off as long as we did.”

Mr. Romney defended his previous decision to insist that he would only release his taxes in April if he became the nominee. But he said the issue had become a distraction.

“We’ll be putting our returns on the Internet. People can look through them,” he said.

Mr. Romney said he will also release on Tuesday an estimate of the taxes that he will pay in April for 2011, and he said he hoped that the release would satisfy people who have called for more information.
