Three homes, a bodega and an Islamic Center were hit by four firebombs in Jamaica, New York, on the first day of the new year.

Thankfully no one was injured in the deluge of inexplicable violence.

The first attack occurred just before 8 p.m. on Sunday night at a bodega at 179-40 Hillside Avenue, the second at a private home at 146-62 107th Avenue which the house caught fire, the third at the Imam Al-Khoei Foundation Islamic center at 89-89 Van Wyck Expressway and the last attack occurred at a house at 88-20 170th Street, the police said.

The Islamic center seemed to be the prime target.

“We had a few members downstairs and they heard it. We came out and put out the fire and called 911,” said Maan Lasahlan, the center’s minister of religion.

Ali Rizdi, who attends the mosque, said he ran outside and began stomping out the fire. He said one of the gas bombs was fashioned from a glass Starbucks Frappuccino bottle.

“We are shocked,” Rizdi said. “We live in the U.S. This is our country.”
