Bin Laden Dead; U.S. Has Body; Obama Addresses Nation

Osama bin Laden is dead and the U.S. is in possession of his body reports the Associated Press. President Obama will announcee he was killed in a targeted operation. Bin Laden was killed in a mansion on the outskirts of Islamabad, the Pakistani capital by U.S. Navy Seals. DNA tests have been conducted to confirm his identity.  The U.S. military is preparing for the possibility of retaliation from bin Laden supporters.

President Obama, in a rare Sunday night speech, said that the capture of bin Laden had been a priority since he became president and that a lead developed last August that provided enough intelligence to act upon Sunday.  The president made clear that we are not at war against Islam, that bin Laden wasn’t a Muslim leader, but rather a murderer of Muslims. The president remarked, “Today’s achievement is a testament to the greatness of our country. Justice has been done.”
