The latest blow against a woman’s right to choose has been struck by a bunch of men in Missouri:

At what point do we become human?

Missouri lawmakers have declared their answer. By withholding both his signature and his veto, Democratic Gov. Jay Nixon signaled that he agreed and recently allowed the legislative answer to become state law.

“The life of each human being begins at conception,” according to Senate Bill 793, which adds new regulations to the state’s 24-hour informed consent law for abortions. “Abortion will terminate the life of a separate, unique, living human being.”

Missouri joins South Dakota as a state that considers conception to be life. And that’s not the worst of it, as Missouri has added level after level of bureaucratic haranguing to be directed at women attempting to receive an abortion. You can see the entire bill here.

And if you were wondering, here’s a gender breakdown of the Missouri Legislature:

House of Representatives: 125 male, 37 female.
Senate: 27 male, 7 female.

It’s a man’s world, and as long as it remains as such, a woman’s right to choose what to do with her own body remains in peril in the U.S. And the Religious Right will never stop chipping away at Roe v. Wade and state abortion laws until it is strictly illegal in all 50 states.
