A new Associated Press-GFK Poll reveals that by a margin of 46-39%, respondents want Democrats to remain in control of Congress. (h/t Teagan Goddard)

The good news for Democrats: By a margin of 47 percent to 42 percent, people trust them more than Republicans to guide the economy, and slightly more — 64 percent — say their household budgets are in good shape.

It’s not all good for Democrats, but it’s encouraging.

Congressional Democrats get a thumbs-up from 38 percent, modestly more than the 32 percent who approve of how Capitol Hill Republicans are doing their jobs. When it comes to performance on major issues, Democrats have taken a solid advantage over Republicans on handling health care and have narrowed the GOP edge on defense and immigration.
