GOP CA Councilman Wears Sign Equating Pelosi With Stalin

At a GOP-organized protest of the Orange County Democrats’ Harry Truman Awards where Nancy Pelosi was the guest speaker, Irvine Councilman Stephen Choi paraded around with a sign on his back likening Pelosi to Josef Stalin. It’s one thing for tea party nutballs to compare Democrats to Hitler and Stalin, but it’s quite unusual for an elected official to do it.

An OC Register photographer caught Choi roaming the Hilton lobby before Pelosi’s address. Choi is seen in a suit, tie and a depiction of Pelosi as Joseph Stalin, the Soviet dictator who killed millions under his Great Terror campaign. Another photo shows Choi posing with a woman who is wearing a Pelosi-SS guard illustration.
