Palin Quits Race

A five-mile turkey trot race in Washington State to raise money for the Red Cross attracted many Palin fans.  Sarah Palin had announced to her Twitter followers that she’d be running in the race; but she quit the race early to avoid the throngs (h/t Think Progress).

She didn’t finish the race, opting to leave the course early to avoid more crowds at the end. About 40 minutes into the run, word started trickling out to people gathered at the finish line that she was gone.
