Was Texas Congressman Randy Neugebauer Born In The US?

He probably was, but you’d never know it by this birther’s refusal to provide his birth certificate.  Politico asked 11 House representatives whose names are on the birther bill to provide their own birth certificates, but the terse response from Neugebauer’s office was, “Congressman Neugebauer will not be submitting a copy of his birth certificate.” (h/t Think Progress)

Reps. Kenny Marchant of Texas, Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee, and Dan Burton of Indiana faxed over copies.

Texas Rep. Louie Gohmert was in the Middle East, but his spokesperson said he’d be glad to provide it when he returns. Gohmert was “surprised” by the request, since there is no requirement for a member of Congress to have been born in the United States.

Rep. John Carter of Texas says he’ll provide a letter of authorization for us to look at his original birth certificate in Austin, and the staff of John Campbell of California says they’re working on our request.

Texas Rep. Ted Poe’s office hasn’t responded to the request.

Now I do believe that Neugebauer was born in the US.  But if he’s not willing to provide anything to indicate as such, what is he hiding?  At least we have a Certificate of Live Birth to prove Barack Obama was born here (and the statements of Hawaii officials, plus newspaper birth announcements). Where is Neugebauer’s proof?
